My wife and I came in there this is our neighborhood restaurant she came in there I went there before I tried to fish it was very very soggy customer service was very vague wasn't the best that was about 2 months ago then my wife and I drove there again today in our bikes to order a burger the guy at the counter was very rude he wasn't too excited to have us come in don't ever eat there don't ever go there the owner told us to leave get out argue with this about the menu of the food there was no prices excuse me there is no pictures of the food to explain how the burger was made so I guess you can't customize your burger he was upset because I didn't want bacon then he threatened to call the police on me and have me trespass he doesn't have to worry about that cuz we'll never go there again that place is disgusting don't ever go there again the hispanic guy that works there he's very very rude and the white guy that works there he's very very rude too very racist I just read a review on this place a month ago I don't really read too many reviews I don't care for it but I just read the reviews there is a woman who is experienced the same thing I just experienced the worst customer service ever this was literally a month ago go back and look at the reviews he has to have a lot of good reviews so what I think they were paid paid friends and family to do that because no restaurant has that many positive reviews it's impossible they hadn't even been there that long so that's friends and family doing that for them pay attention to that this is the realest review you're ever going to get don't ever eat their they're racist they have horrible customer service they do not treat you right and they do not speak to you when you come in this place needs to...

This is a solid 5 star review. I wish we could give it more. While looking for a fish place, we stumbled on to this Renton gem. A must try if you like a bit of REAL AUSSIE/NZ/Fijian seafood. As prepared "Aussie" style by Zane, Owner/Chef. His grandmother in Fiji "taught" him. For many years I covered Aus/NZ from NorCal.... at one time I knew Sydney better than San Francisco. This led to my love all most all things Aussie. Back to the review. Given Barramundi fish and chips AND Bundaberg ginger beer...someone had to be from Aussie. Then we meet Zane and he is superb. You must chat with him. It's like being there... He prepares the Aussie way. This was one of the coolest experiences I have had in WA. If you like laid back Aussie style this is your place. The food is outstanding. The best fish and chips. I closed my eyes and the taste took me back to Manly Beach on the beach fish place. Barramundi is imported from Aus. It's an Aus seabass. Great taste as I normally do not like seabass. The fries are wonderful too. As you can see I love this place and will return soon. Want a break from Ivars? In my opinion, after a meal here you won't be going there again. Want to runaway from this climate, go there order, then close your eyes.... if you are like me you will visualize an Aussie fish place in Aus on/near a beach. Wanna talk rugby he is your man. Naturally favors Fiji though the everyone has an All-Blacks jersey. Good luck to Zane and his venture. I do hope he is outrageously successful and gets a Salty Blue food truck operational. The price is reasonable too. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND you check Salty and if you love it like we did tell us and Zane! To my Aussie mates in the states and in AUS this is...

When I found this little hole in the wall of a restaurant called salty blue, I was very curious and I went inside looked at their menu, and I asked the gentleman behind the counter was this fish or shrimp Frozen or fresh, he said it was fresh they get it every day it comes directly from the harbor and they don't keep anything in the freezer. So I ordered the fish the house fish I ordered shrimp on the grill and shrimp fried shrimp with potato or should we say french fries and I picked the the sweet potatoes. When I got home I opened up my plate and I found this big huge beautiful grilled fish they ran across my plate it was so fresh and so delicious so are the sweet potatoes that I was so impressed that this place is going to be a big hit. Then I went to the shrimp they were amazingly very thick and big and also they were grilled I took a bite and you could tell when a shrimp had been frozen versus a shrimp that is fresh and it is so fresh you still can taste this the ocean. There were five big shrimps with my sweet potatoes and absolutely delicious. Folks, I highly highly recommend this place salty blue also the beer that they have on draft is not your regular beer but different types of ipas and craft beers absolutely delicious it's a small clean place with some tables and the staff is wonderful. You also have a choice of beers that are in a refrigerator next to the counter and I haven't gone through all of them yet in regards to tasting them but so far every beer I've had there is delicious. This is got to be the best kept secret in Seattle so I highly recommend it please folks try it out you won't be disappointed....

Oh my gosh! I needed to pick up a bookshelf at IKEA, so searched for a nearby lunch spot and found Salty Blue. I’ve lived in the Seattle area for 60+ years, and I’ve eaten a lot of fish & chips. If this isn’t the best fish & chips in Seattle, then it’s a really, really, really close second. Three things to note: 1) They don’t serve Cod, which is the standard fish & chips fish around here. Instead, their “house fish” is New Zealand Hoki. They also serve Barramundi (Australian Sea Bass) and Halibut. The young man behind the counter took the time to clearly explain the differences between the types of fish they offered and how they compared to Cod. Made our choices much easier! We ordered both the Hoki and Halibut to compare. The Hoki was very tasty! 2) They have a small selection of beer and cider on tap. The IPA d’jour during our visit was a Single Hill hazy pale. Not my favorite, but any establishment (especially one this small) that puts Single Hill beer on tap gets props from me. 3) Salty Blue is a tip-free establishment. Lunch for two was $60 (including a soda and the beer), which is a bit pricey, but when you think about what you would normally expect to pay for quality fish & chips and then add a tip, it works out to about the same. Just be aware and don’t let the price shock you. I thought the overall value was above average.
