UPDATE: 01/04/2016
Figured I would give this a properly updated review. After my most recent visit I don't believe I will be coming back anymore. I'll try to keep it short and break it down into three parts:
I. CUSTOMER SERVICE (THE EMPLOYEES WHO SERVE.)
As I wrote before, the staff is generally pretty friendly. If I have a problem they listen. If have a question they try to answer it. Nothing to write home about here but they don't act like disgruntled employees on a 9-5 shift trying to make a paycheck. I can honestly say this alone is probably why I've kept coming back as much as I have. It's not impressive, but they're attentive for the most part every time I've visited.
II. VALUE (BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!)
The value here is a total joke.
No seriously, McDonalds may have a clown for their mascot but the joke is the value for your money. For the price of a Big Mac Extra Value Meal you could go to a different place and get better quality food and probably a larger portion. The Big Mac ain't so "big" anymore. This should be no surprise really, McDonalds has always upped their price and shrank their portions. But did you know they even charge for certain condiments now? Fees for an extra tomato, a slice of cheese, some lettuce, maybe pickles has always been a common thing. Just about any fast food joint will expect you to shell out extra for another dipping sauce or extra goodies.
However this location has now (It could have been for a long time actually according to the crew member I asked.) begun charging for mayonnaise. It comes to roughly 25-30 cents for a tiny dab of mayonnaise on your burger if it doesn't come with it. Doesn't matter if you tell them no ketchup or mustard, that tiny little thin layer of mayonnaise is going to cost you. The kicker here is you could just ask for a packet of mayonnaise for free and apply it yourself. This combined with the quality of the food is why I won't eat here anymore.
III. FOOD QUALITY (WILL YOU LIKE IT?)
With the exception of when I've specifically asked for it their food is almost never hot. It arrives nearly lukewarm. Fresh, but lukewarm like it's been sitting without the warming trays turned on. They usually add plenty of lettuce on the burgers (I primarily get McChickens.) but the condiments are on the lacking. More often than not the bread tastes dry, unappetizing. It's not stale, just reminds you that you should keep something to drink nearby to wash it down with. This has to be the first place I've eaten that has had me thinking of that each and every time I visit. At times when when they've added actual condiments (Like asking for ketchup.) it looks like the container just exploded all over the inside of the wrapper and burger.
It's sufficient to say the presentation and quality of the food is severely lacking.
IV. CONCLUSION (MY CLOSING ADVICE)
If you're tired of employees that just act like they couldn't give a crap about their job then I'd recommend giving this McDonalds a try. If you're tired of employees that act like they don't give a crap but also want good food and a deal look elsewhere. Overall, just save yourself a "meh" experience and find another fast food restaurant...
Read moreThe worse McDonaldâs weâve ever purchased from. Unfortunately, this location is the closest to our home and the most convenient. Weâve had multiple issues with our orders and when we came back to correct the order we were faced with poor customer service as if it was our error for ordering with the mobile app.
One of the many examples occurred today. I ordered 6 strawberry n creme pies, 2 breakfast sandwiches, and 2 hash browns. Once I got to the 3rd window I specifically mentioned that I had also ordered 6 strawberry n creme pies two days prior and only received half the order and replaced with 3 apple pies. I made sure the same mistake would not be made again as my son is deathly allergic to apples. Once I received the order I checked my pies, 2 of the 6 pies I ordered had been replaced with apple pie again. I drove back into the drive thru as Iâm pregnant with my toddler son in the car. I was confronted with âwe donât have anymoreâ to which I replied âok, you need to let me be aware of the situation as I paid for strawberry n creme pies, not apple. My son is allergic.â They told me to get my refund through the mobile app which is not an option either as Iâm instructed to take it up with the store I ordered through. They finally told me that it would take 11 minutes if I want the correct pies i paid for. I was already there for a total of 20 minutes so I agreed. They came out within a minute because the pies had already been cooked the entire time I had to deal with the issue. WTH McDonaldâs?! Do better. Especially with so many common food allergies it is not difficult to tell the customer to wait if they want the correct order. Luckily I checked each...
Read moreThis location just can't seem to get orders correct. I understand they are very busy at times, but this is no exaggeration when I say that 100% of the time we have gone here our orders have been wrong, and not just missing one item, I mean missing 2-3 times or completely got the order wrong. Literally, 100%! We have had to pull around and CALL them to bring us out the correct items so many times they they know who we are now. We like to go here on Sat or Sun mornings for a quick and easy breakfast for our kids and after today we will never go there again, its just not worth it. The Newcastle location at least gets the orders correct. Example: This AM, forgot our toy, so had to go back, forgot one sausage biscuit, had to go back, but gave us a random breakfast sandwich that we don't eat...No salsa after asking specifically for it at window...I mean its a waste of everyones time, even writing this is a joke of time, but seriously this location just doesn't seem to care, MGMT needs to figure something out, Why not CONFIRM each order prior to handing the food over? The time spent on people having to go back and stop production must be killing them! Just check the order...? Think about how many people overpay due to wrong orders, kind of makes your wonder. The workers seem overwhelmed and their attitudes are jaw dropping, they don't want to be there and don't care...
