A quaint park with lots of features! This medium sized park is quite nice.
It has a sheltered area adjacent to the bathrooms that contains 4 picnic tables. It's great for kids parties or family get togethers since the shelter neighbors the playground. The shelter can be reserved for use during certain parts of the year.
The playground has 2 sets of play structures. One set is for ages 2-5 and the other was for ages 6-12. It's very colorful and has a lot of fun ways to climb and explore. There is also a rock climbing area for kids with rocks of varying degrees of difficulty to climb. Next to the rock climbing area is a small single basket basketball court as well. To top it off, there is a couple outdoor exercise equipment pieces that you can use.
Around the border of the park is a walking trail with a scattering of other picnic tables. It encompasses a large grass field and a baseball field area.
The only drawback is the amount of parking in the "parking lot". It really only holds about 5 or 6 cars. Luckily there is street parking all along the road borders of the park so that helps, you just have to walk a...
Read moreLots of kid-friendly rocks to climb around on. Expansive lawn for any lawn activities, from picnics to volleyball to soccer. Playground, half-court basketball, and nice walking trail as well. Overall, this park has a nice balance of activities available, with plenty of places for parents to sit while their children play.
The most unique aspect of the park is a series of climbable, playable rocks. These pseudo rocks are made from climbing wall material (not real stone) and don't extend more than about 7 feet high, with soft bark on the ground in case you fall. The rocks have handholds and footholds for climbing. They kept my 10-yr-old's attention for about 20 minutes.
The expansive lawn is surrounded by a nice paved walking trail with small outloops into trails in woodsey areas. These trails provide opportunities for exploration, discovery, and quiet.
The baskball court is a half-court, with a flat, level cement floor and a hoop/backboard in...
