Tortas Locas LLC — Restaurant in Renton

Decided to try this place out for the first time. I was disappointed that they didn't sell mulitas since they're my favorite, but you can't have everything. I ordered the Asada Taco platter ($10) plus an Horchata and the Enchiladas (but with beef) ($11) for my girlfriend. The food took a little while, but no longer than any other restaurant. For available sauces they offered a green sauce with a tasty bit of spice that was probably a combination of chiles and jalapenos, and a red sauce that tasted very smoky, maybe a chipotle sauce, which wasn't my favorite. The tacos were made with a single corn tortilla and had a good amount of meat in each, but the meat wasn't particularly flavorful, I'm my opinion. They were definitely filling enough, I just wasn't blown away or anything. Maybe I should have went for a torta, after all, it IS in the name of the place! 😅

My girlfriend complained of the enchilada sauce being too spicy for her. I brought it to the attention of the man who took our order, and although he replied that it was the only enchilada sauce they had, he offered to smother it in sour cream to make it palatable for her. This pleased her, even though when we left she mentioned that her mouth was still hot, haha! I like that kind of customer service though!

My wife and I visited Tortas Locas in Renton for the very first time. OMG, what a hidden GEM if you love authentic Mexican food. They have a huge selection of delicious items to choose from tacos, fajitas, tortas, quesadillas, tostadas and so much more with every type of protein you can choose from. We had the quesadillas, tacos, and a savory lamb soup perfect for a cold day. The portions were huge, very reasonably priced, meats – lamp, pork, beef, brisket, were very tender and deliciously spiced, the tortilla was very soft and fresh and good size, sides of grilled onions, fresh cilantro, chopped white onions, and avocado were the perfect compliments to each of the dishes. If you have a sweet tooth like I do, you must try their freshly made desserts. We had the Flan, which was to die for, and the fruit Jello mix which was so refreshing. Atmosphere is very laid back. Good for families with children. The staff, mostly family were very friendly, made recommendations that we were totally happy with. We had so much food, we took home to enjoy for a later meal. Came in at 1:00 while getting my tires rotated, place not busy. I asked the older gentleman (prob owner) if they had iced tea, he acted like I asked for a super exotic item and then pointed to bottled Arizona Tea. I declined, and said I would have water instead, he pointed to the soda machine and walked away. I was trying to figure their menu board out and the same gentleman who seemed to be in a giant hurry and super frustrated that I ordered a taco and an enchilada, raised his voice told me I couldn’t get that, had to order 3 enchiladas, so instead I ordered 2 chicken tacos.
