I recently visited Renton Seafood Restaurant for the first time and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. While the majority of the dishes were enjoyable, a significant issue arose with the ć¤çć骨 (salt fried pork chop).
Upon tasting the pork chop, it had a sour flavor, suggesting it might have expired. When I brought this to the waitress's attention, she promptly removed the dish and offered a free replacement without any explanation. Curious and concerned, I asked her why the pork tasted sour when she returned. She candidly admitted that due to high temperatures in the kitchen, the chefs left the pork outside the fridge for too long, causing it to spoil. Despite this alarming revelation, she did not offer an apology, which left me feeling quite dissatisfied.
When it was time to check out, I expressed my displeasure to the female owner of the restaurant. Rather than apologizing, she deflected the blame onto the manufacturer, which was a perplexing and unsatisfactory response. Even though she acknowledged it wasn't my fault, her lack of accountability was disappointing.
Due to the poor service and the fact that I was served expired food, I decided not to leave a tip. The owner later approached me at my table to question why I hadnât tipped, insisting that their replacement dish should have warranted one. This interaction was quite uncomfortable, especially as other patrons were listening.
Overall, while some dishes were good, the poor service and the unacceptable handling of expired food ensure that I will not be returning to Renton Seafood Restaurant. My first visit here was, regrettably, my last.
I didn't take any photos (I should have), to prove my experience is genuine, I am including a photo from PayPal as evidence...
Read moreFood was good but my online experience was not good at all! I found this restaurant online and decided to order and go pick it up. There was a checkbox that allowed me to request that they let me know when my order was ready. I did see it change to 'confirmed' status but after another 45 minutes I decided to head to the restaurant. After taking all my credit card info online, to my surprise, I arrived at the restaurant for them to tell me they needed to swipe my card. I was unsure that I wouldn't get charged twice and was really relieved that I hadn't sent someone else to pick up the order thinking it was paid for. The other person would have gotten stuck paying the $65 bill or not gotten the food because of the deceiving website. The staff seemed unconcerned that their website is deceptive and doesnt mention anywhere that it's not actually charging ur card or give an option to not enter card info. They were basically bothered that I was questioning the re-swiping of my card. The reasoning given was that they took the cc info to compare the card when I arrived. On a brighter note...the food was good and all...
Read moreMultiple friends recommended Renton Seafood Restaurantâs Roasted Duck (aka BBQ Duck) so we had to go try it.
The decor of the restaurant is typical of most neighborhood Chinese restaurants but it is bright and well-kept. Menu offers a good balance of vegetarian and non vegetarian options, a good variety of seafood dishes, and some interesting chefâs special.
We ordered the Roasted Duck and it did not disappoint. It was SO good! The skin was crispy, and the meat was tender, juicy and flavorful. Steamed Oysters with Garlic and Scallions were fresh and tasty. The SautĂŠed Fish Fillet was a bit salty but still decent. The Stir-Fried Cured Meat with Veggies and Lotus Root was refreshing and the Beef Chow Fun was tasty.
Food was served promptly, service was good, and prices were reasonable!
A very pleasant experience overall. Will definitely come...
