One star for blizzards. I specifically go to Dairy Queen for their blizzards, but not at the Rexburg location. I had one or two good blizzards there 3 years ago, but then stopped going because they weren't being mixed very well. I recently went back and decided to try a blizzard again. I ordered a medium brownie dough and added cookie dough. It was amazing until I got about halfway through, then the brownie/cookie dough pieces started dwindling. The bottom inch and a half was just straight vanilla ice cream. Annoyed I spent the money on that I decided to try again when I was craving another blizzard. I went back there tonight and ordered the Oreo fudge brownie blizzard and added cookie dough. When it was handed to me there was white ice cream on top so I knew exactly what to prepare myself for. Sure enough the last HALF of the blizzard was straight vanilla ice cream. I'm aware that it was busy (about 9pm), but this is a reoccurring problem.
Another reason I stopped going to Dairy Queen in Rexburg was because my husband went to get blizzards 20 minutes before closing. There were 4 cars ahead of him and he ended up waiting in line for the FULL 20 minutes before he could order. Once he pulled up ready to order they shut their lights off and refused to serve him. There were 3 cars behind my husband and all of them (including my husband) went to Sonic (where I have been and now will continue to go) instead. I love Dairy Queen, and I want to love the one in Rexburg... But it has proven time and time again to be a...
Read moreAs amateur milkshake reviewers of the greater rexburg area, it is our pleasure to bring to you our in depth review of the Hot Chocolate milkshake that dairy queen has to offer. We will rate each criteria out of 10, with 10 being the very best, and 1 being the very worst.
Milkshake itself: taste: 6.5/10 how it makes us feel: 2.5/10 (already had a tummy ache before completing the small) consistency: 8/10 (on the thinner side but we're not complaining) presentation: 5/10 smell: 7/10 value: 3.5/10 whipped cream: 8.5/10 final slurp: 6.5/10
Place: variety: 5/10 (not many milkshake flavors, however there are lots of blizzard flavors) customer service: 6.5/10 cleanliness: 5.5/10 smell: 6/10
Notes: We were slightly more than slightly disappointed with the strength of the chocolate flavor. It was more like a vanilla milkshake with a hint of chocolate rather than a real chocolatey shake, which, if we're being honest, is what we were going for. The consistency was nice and the whipped cream was like a little taste of heaven. It may be worth noting that we also ordered a caramel sundae which we actually preferred over the milkshake. (even though we generally prefer milkshakes... just peep the email name).
Final Verdict (in haiku form): Dairy Queen Milkshake We like your silky texture but...
Read moreI never understood, even after working in the industry for years, people closing portions of the lobby to clean it as the lobby hours get close to closing. The lobby hours were posted to close at 11pm. But for whatever reason shortly after 9pm they were blocking it off with chairs. Notwithstanding those chairs sit in paths to doors that may be used in emergency circumstance (heaven forbid), but it really sends a poor message to customers.
Blizzards were good. Mine had drips all down the side of the cup. Not sure how long mine sat before the other was completed. But they sure didn’t use mine as the example flip upside down presentation at the pick up counter. Finally, there was a smell in there I couldn’t describe. They either burned something in the over or an oven type cleaner was dispelled. My wife said it smelled like gas and I thought it resembled the oven cleaner smell at home. Either way I heard three others comment it too while in the lobby. We decided to eat after a few minutes in our car because you could almost taste whatever...
