First review I've ever left for anything but what happened today shouldn't have happened & was uncalled for. Hopefully this post can prompt PPC management to make changes, and create a better experience for future customers. We've gone to PPC for a long time (15+ years) but today had the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant or anywhere for that matter. At lunch today, as we arrived, my wife was trying to login to use reward points (since we come here fairly often). The hostess began waiving her hand at my wife's face and tapping her hand saying that it wasn't working and there was nothing more to be done. Since it wasn't that busy at the time, I asked if we just needed to check again but again she responded in the same way but clearly agitated. Unknown to my wife and I, the hostess moved forward to charge us anyway without resolving the issue to send us on our way. I am an easy going person but feel that this was disrespectful and degrading toward my wife & family. Realizing that she didn't care to speak kindly or respectfully I let her know that how she was speaking was not okay and frankly intense. For the first time anywhere, I asked for the Manager who then was able to help resolve the issue. We ended up being charged twice as we didn't know the hostess had already charged us, but the manager was able to help resolve that for the hostess as well. Unfortunately, this just left a bad taste in my mouth while we tried to enjoy time as a family. We appreciate the Manager who was able step in to help but had they not been available we would have left probably to not return. PPC Management - This is probably a one off of how things normally go as we have been long time fans but it may be time to evaluate where you may want to make adjustments with...
Read moreGlad they have gluten/wheat free options. Went there for a business lunch with almost nobody else in the restaurant. Ordered the gluten free pizza and realized after 30 minutes that they had never made it. Salad and gluten free pasta were good, except we had come for pizza. It usually takes a little while, but after 30 minutes in a mostly empty place it was no surprise when they said they had made a mistake. The rest of our group had finished eating so there was no desire to have a pizza made for one person to eat while others waited. When I asked if they had made the pizza I was told to wait for a manager and they didn't come. Then I mentioned to someone that I was standing in the empty area for a while because I had been told to wait and they managed to get the manager finally. He nicely apologized quickly and said he was processing a refund. After a bit of typing and several moments he asked for my card so that he could run it again with "$2.00 difference" removed. I asked if they had a salad and pasta only option. I never asked for anything specifically, but when I realized that the refund was just the difference between a regular pizza buffet and a gluten pizza $2 fee I told him it wasn't worth the trouble. Technically, they didn't owe me anything. We would not have chosen to eat there if there wasn't the gluten free pizza. It is pretty poor business in my opinion to offer a $2 correction as a refund. I did mention that it was a bit surprising that they didn't seem to care about their reputation. Mistakes happen. We did get some food. We did not get what we went there for. That was my...
Read moreI have been going to Pizza Pie Cafe (formerly Craigo's) for a long time. Their food is fairly good, and they have a good variety of food you can get for the buffet price. I would say their crust is often over-kneaded, and tough, and is too dense. My issue with them lately has been their promotions. Their normal price is really expensive, then they frequently have coupons or text deals that make it a reasonable price.
Recently PPC ran a promotion, advertising that you could come in on a a certain day, and your purchase would get you a "golden" receipt which you could use to come back and get half off another time. I was thrilled and made plans to come on that day to take advantage of the deal. When I arrived I presented PPC with my usual coupon, and was told I would not get the "golden" receipt unless I paid full price (essentially making the deal worse then their typical promotion deal). No where in the advertisements for the promotion was this caveat mentioned, and had I known, I certainly would not have come on that day, as it was busier than normal.
After expressing my concern to the employee they offered me 25% off if I used my coupon instead of getting the 50% "golden" receipt. I accepted the offer, and after running my card, and getting a receipt I realized I had not been given the 25% off at all, but the employee had already disappeared, and I didn't want to...
