Chase Place — Restaurant in Richardson

I tried to eat my dinner tonight here, but the beef nachos I ordered were cold and disgusting. I complained to the bartender, and she chose to have them remade for me. They were worse than the first plate. My bet is that they just dumped toppings off of what was the first plate and microwave the chips and cheese. Then, they overloaded it with cold lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. They forgot the beef on this one. After trying to eat one chip, I asked the bartender to remove them. When I went to pay the bill, they still tried to charge me for them. I don't know about you, but if I can't eat something. Then I shouldn't have to pay for it!!!! I have family in the Dallas area, and when I come visit I sometimes have time to kill. I haven't found any better place to do so than Chase Place. Just an unassuming little spot in a strip mall, but it's everything I could possibly want in a gin joint. The bartenders are well-experienced and affable (when appropriate), the people who frequent tend to be working class drinking folk (or at least interesting), and you can actually have meaningful conversations with your bar neighbors. It's the kind of place which fosters a community. I did have one plate of food there (to sober up a bit, admittedly) and it was well-put together and hit the spot. This place has been here for years! I used to come here in my twenties and now I'm 60 and it's still here! No doubt because of fabulous service comfortable atmosphere and friendly customers. If you're a smoker you can smoke in here! A big plus for us old school types, Nancy is friendly and exceptionally professional she knows your drink and keeps busy in the whole times but never lets a customer want for attention.
