A nice local shop, they roast their own beans in house. My husband says it is THE BEST coffee in the greater area. You can tell they're passionate about what they do and they're good at it. They sell premade bags of beans. My husband bought one and it was roasted the day before! Talk about fresh! And for every bag you buy, you get a free drink!
I prefer tea and they have a modest selection of tea. The barrista was super friendly and concocted a London fog using their creamy coconut flavor, by mixing the vanilla steamer option with the tea of my choice. It's not the norm for them to do that, but he wasn't busy and took it up as a challenge. It was delicious and hit all the right notes for me. I had to buy more of the creamy coconut tea bags and now I wish I bought more. š©
Then they let us go to the back where they showed off their 19- something old roasting machine. It looked pretty legit. They left their work place and took their time to explain to us the process and what they have to do to avoid the Texas heat from adding on the the roasting temperature.
It was a fun experience, definitely a diamond in the ruff, found in a super unassuming building and even more unassuming area. Can't wait to see how their Cafe turns out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo let me begin by explaining that this Eiland is not your everyday coffee shop. It is a retail outlet and original tasting space for the attached roastery. That means that there is no space to sit and drink coffee while browsing the Internet with your laptop. You can order, enjoy the exceptional customer service from Cassie and Christine, hang around out front (but please be conscious of the other customers wanting to enjoy) and come back again tomorrow. But know that YOU WILL LEAVE WITH THE BEST CUP OF COFFEE IN THE AREA.
I had the best shot of espresso I've had in a while, and I just got back from Europe. Yeah, I said that.
Top down, Eiland has great quality espresso, lattes, mochas, pour-overs, hot chocolates...and customer service to boot.
And the beans! Ask them anything! They'll answer with a smile and with perfect care.
Stop in to Eiland Coffee. Best....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNothing short of amazing coffee. I have been going to Eiland for two years now (this is when my coffee journey and drinking begin). When I arrived the first time, Clay (Owner/Founder) was there and spent a good 30 minutes with me. He explained the roasting process for some of their coffees (Costa Rica Black Honey Process is my favorite to this day). He also spent time explaining the importance of grind level and water temperature for different brew systems. Finally, he is just a down right humble, loving man to chat with. I have tried everything under the sun regarding coffee the last couple years and I keep coming back to Eiland. The taste and quality are unmatched! Plus, every time you buy a bag you get a free drink. Can't complain...
