We stumbled upon this place after seeing an ad on Facebook and suggestion/reviews on Yelp. I always tend to take reviews with a grain of salt and make up my own mind after actually trying the food. It is in a rather secluded area; albeit a hidden gem! TG Steakhouse hit it out of the park!
Upon entering, Mom and I immediately noticed the positive energy flowing through the intimate space. We were greeted promptly by Andre with a smile. He noted that we had an 11AM reservation and offered us a choice between a table more towards the front or towards the rear of the restaurant. He showed us to our table and he handed us our drink menus. We decided to order the Strawberry Capirinhas. He explained the process - beginning with the unlimited salad bar and the servers walking around with different cuts of meat.
At the buffet, we were enticed by the array of offerings - most noteworthy were the chicken salad and potato salad. I had to stop myself from going back for seconds since we were already planning on enjoying the churrasco lunch.
The Strawberry Capirinhas were smooth, refreshing, and fruity with just the right amount of intensity on the palate. It went well with the Pao de Quiejo(the Brazilian cheese bread) and the cuts of meat that came around throughout our dining experience. We tried Brazilian Sausage, Chicken Parmesan, Bottom Sirloin, Top Sirloin, Garlic Picanha, Spicy Picanha, and Spicy Garlic Beef. All EXCELLENT! All cuts were fork tender and literally melt-in-your-mouth. Don’t forget the grilled pineapple! It is the best part of the experience!
Hands down - BEST Brazilian Steakhouse in DFW. The food quality, quantity, and standards to which the establishment adheres is impressive. The service and the ambiance were both attentive without being intrusive. We were well taken care of and the staff made us feel welcome. I especially enjoyed our interactions with Andre, Eduardo, and Wander. I have been to Fogo de Chao and Texas de Brazil in past years and don’t recall the food being anything to write home about, but THIS PLACE? If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out.
For $24.90 per person, you can enjoy lunch. Very reasonable! Come hungry and pace yourself! You will want to save room for the Brazilian Coffee, Brazilian Flan(which is on the buffet line), and the NY Cheesecake Slice. The portions are just right. We were only a party of 2, but we made it work. We can definitely see this establishment as our regular place going forward. We will return for...
Read moreMy husband and I purchased the Friday Night Dinner for 2 package off of the restaurant's website. When purchased, we were charged tax and knew that all that was left to pay at the restaurant was gratuity. We let our waitress know we had made the purchase upon seating ourselves (we waited to be seated and when no one did, we just seated ourselves). The atmosphere was a little bare bones. No table cloths. There was an odd show on the projector stealing everyone's attention and causing diners to make loud comments making it feel like a bit of a sports bar than a sit down dinner. The salad buffet did not have labels so some foods were unidentifiable. For someone with food allergies, this can be a problem. I have a shellfish allergy and had no idea what some of the fried items and slaws might involve due to lack of labels. The first round of meat that came out was over cooked and very tough. We let them know and the subsequent rounds were more tender. Soft drinks were included and refilled adequately. Cheese bread was on the table but not refilled and lacked the cheesiness other Brazilian steakhouse cheese breads offer. When the check came, the waitress charged us for two meals. We reminded her of our online purchase. She came back with an updated receipt where she had written on top of it $12. We knew all we owed was gratuity so we left just the tip and left. The waitress came out to the parking lot telling us we owed more. I said what do you mean? She pointed to the receipt where I could see we were being charged tax. I said we already paid tax online, we should not be charged for tax twice. So she went to get the manager. The manager was very apologetic, and said it was just a mistake on the waitress' part because she didn't know. In my opinion, if they are going to run a deal, they should train the waitresses on how to charge for that deal rather than have the waitress learn on the customers in the parking lot of the restaurant! I caught her pursing her lips and rolling her eyes while I said this to the manager. It was an overall odd experience that we have not experienced...
Read moreThe food is really good here. Their salad bar is fresh, and the hot food bar is filled with tasty sides. While we enjoy the food, the inattentive wait staff brings the score way down. We ate there twice before we found out that they give complimentary basket of bread. Now, we just ask. Sometimes they'll put a clean plate at your table, other times you have to retrieve one yourself from the salad bar area. I've had to search out a waitress to remove used plates from the table so we could have room. Last time we were there we had to search for a person just to pay our check. They have Groupon specials for dinner for two, but they had a better deal on their website. We opted for the one on their site, since it was a better deal, each person got a drink, meal and a dessert. When we ordered the desserts we were told that Groupon specials only include one dessert to share and it's only a brownie and ice cream not anything else on the menu. We said that we didn't have Groupon but we had the, "dinner for 2 deal" from their website. They called over a manager who just said the same thing. We had to pull up the website and show her, the manager, what it included. Her response was, "we'll honor it this once, but not again." What?!!! We like the food so we went back. They really need training on attention to customers and knowing what specials they are running. We opted for the deal on their site to put more money in their pockets instead of Groupon. Such a shame. I think they'd be much more popular if they...
