We decided to stop here randomly one day while looking for a new-to-us spot to try for lunch. Even though it was lunch time on a weekday, it was not busy inside, which was nice. We sat ourselves and our server dropped off menus. While browsing the menu, we noticed the interesting train decor throughout the restaurant. There was even a model train moving around a track above the dining area. It was pretty cool to us as, we're 'train people'. Looking over the menu, we were thrilled what appeared to be a decent amount of vegetarian options. [All of us dining are vegetarians.] After deciding on our individual meals, we chose the mozzarella stick appetizer to share. The mozzarella sticks came out fairly quickly and at first taste...were really good. They are served with what the menu refers to as: 'original Broadway sauce'. This sauce is also the main sauce used for pizzas and pastas [unless you request one of the secondary options listed], according to the menu. There is no description provided for this sauce leading one to assume it is a traditional red/pizza sauce. [That means without meat.] Much to our chagrin, as we were eating the mozzarella sticks, we noticed that the red sauce tasted...off...spicy? We looked closer at the sauce and noticed bits of meat in it. We asked our server if we were confused or if this was not a meat-free sauce? She confirmed that there is sausage in the 'original Broadway sauce'. Prior to this, I had never seen mozzarella sticks served with a meat-based sauce, especially with that vital information missing from the menu. The same goes double for the pizza sauce. It is usual to have meat in house pizza sauce?! I cannot recall seeing that before? Anyways, we brought this concern to our server and she was VERY kind and apologetic. She also agreed that it should be clarified as it is a 'main ingredient' of the sauce. She immediately offered to take off the appetizer, which was appreciated but, not necessary as we did enjoy the the mozzarella sticks themselves and told her that. She was most hospitable for the gesture though and that---plus the taste of our other food---is why this is a three star review...versus a two star one. I understand this may seem 'petty' to some but, for folks who are meat-free, it actually impacts their experience quite a bit. I just wanted to share this information as it could easily cause issues for others too. Our individual meals were very good and the portion sizes were large, making them quite fair for the price. My hoagie was stuffed with toppings and it came with a bunch of chips and a pickle spear besides. If I were to return, I'd be very cautious to ask additional questions about menu items I...
Read moreOrdered the cheese bread as an appetizer, and a Meats on Broadway small pizza. The waitress was pretty cute. We received our appetizer and found it to be delicious! Debated on whether to get the Meats pizza or stick with something like a plain old pepperoni. The Meats pizza honestly left plenty to be desired. First off, when ordering, i requested light sausage - you should've seen the amount of sausage that was on this thing when it arrived... Holy balls! Counted something like 16 picked-off sausage chunks... and that was merely on the first ½ of the pizza! I would genuinely hate to see how many pieces would come on a normal pizza, let alone an actual sausage pizza! Aside from being inundated with sausage balls, the rest of the pizza was ok at best. There simply wasn't near enough cheese or sauce on it. Liked the waitress' butt though, so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would like to first state we are tourists and had our pizza delivered. We saw it had a very high rating and decided to order. We ordered a large sausage and pepperoni, Chipotle barbecue wings, and mozzarella sticks. It was almost 60$. That seems pretty high ,but the reviews say its very good. So Ok. Now for the food. The pizza crust was soggy, sauce was plain, and the toppings and cheese seemed minimal. The wings described as sweet with a subtle heat, left my mouth on fire for 20 minutes after only 4 wings. They were Chipotle. The girl who took our order suggested them as an alternative to the honey barbecue we wanted. The highlight of our meal was the mozzarella sticks. They were very flavorful and the marinera sauce was fantastic. To say we disappointed is an understatement. I have had worse pizza before, just not one that...
