It was a hot day the other day and I was craving soft serve matcha twist - which I haven't had since visiting Matcha Cafe Maiko in San Francisco. I was so excited Kyo Matcha opened up so I could get it closer to home!
The soft serve tasted incredible - very similar to Matcha Cafe Maiko. The matcha wasn't overly strong or bitter but had just the right amount of matcha taste. It was perfect. Loved the vanilla part too.
My husband got mango soft serve and it was incredibly smooth and creamy. I actually liked it even more than the matcha flavor, but I'm a huge mango fan! It tastes just like the ice cream I used to have in Pakistan when I would visit there as a kid. Mangos overseas are next level so I was impressed to get that same flavor here in the states.
The service was great - staff were very accommodating and offered me a tray so I could carry our order back to our table. They were really sweet and easy to talk to.
Loved the ambiance of the place too - lots of modern decor and neon signs. It looked like a great place to relax and enjoy a sweet treat.
Next time I want to try their matcha drinks - they...
Read moreIf you love Asian sweets or Matcha, it's something worth trying. Skip this this place if you've been or are going to Japan though.
Desserts: Strawberry Milk Cap Cake and Matcha Crepe Cake. The strawberry milk cap cake was fluffy and sweet. We enjoyed it. The Matcha Crepe Cake wasn't what we expected. It was bitter and you couldn't taste the sweetness at all.
Drinks: Strawberry Matcha Latte and 50% sugar Black Sesame Latte. The Matcha was on the bitter side with strawberry jam. Not sure what to say. It had a funny artificial taste with the jam. The Black Sesame Latte had the right amount of sesame flavor.
Customer Service: Ordered at kiosk. Staff was busy, however they need to be more efficient. People who ordered after us got their orders first while we waited for 20 minutes.
Overall: It's a hit or miss depending on what you order. It's also...
Read moreI was so excited when I saw Kyo Matcha from the outside—the store looked cute, and all the cakes on display seemed so delicious! We ordered the Matcha Brulee Cream Slush, Soymilk Matcha Latte, and Strawberry Matcha Latte, along with two cakes: the Matcha Red Bean Towel Cake and the Ube Milk Cap Cake. The experience didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The Matcha Brulee Cream Slush was the only standout—it was rich and flavorful. The other drinks were just okay, nothing special, and overpriced. Cakes were the biggest disappointment. The Matcha Towel Cake was overwhelmingly creamy, and even with three people, we couldn’t finish it. The Ube Milk Cap Cake was not soft, and the ube flavor tasted artificial. Another thing is that the store shares space with Dragon Pot, so the smell of hot...
