I cannot recommend Emily’s enough. I asked my husband if we and our kids could go there for my birthday. My kids are picky eaters and we told them that we would get them nuggets after if they didn’t want to order 😂 We were greeted by Emily herself, who was so sweet and attentive even though she was by herself serving and running the register. The place is small but inviting and there were three other parties when we arrived. Emily was great about making sure we had water. We got the baba ganoush with pita as an appetizer and it came out quickly. It was delicious, and the kids even ate the pita. My husband and I each got the doner, which came with rice and salad. While we waited for our food, we could hear the table next to us RAVING to Emily about everything. When our plates arrived, we could see why. The servings were huge, and everything tasted PERFECT. The plates were served with tzatziki and hot sauce. The tzatziki was SO fresh. I didn’t even realize it could be that good. Emily noticed that my 3yo wasn’t eating and told her that if she tried something, she would bring her a surprise. She tried some rice (which she loved) and Emily brought her out tiramisu, which we helped her with 😂 Every aspect of our lunch was fantastic, but you can tell that the owners love what they do, from sharing their culture to preparing their food. We will absolutely be back for date night!

This is one of those absolute gems. I'd say this place is one of my top five places to eat in Pittsburgh. And the good news is that it's a small, family, owned and operated restaurant, where the focus us still in creating an intimate and affordable meal. If you like Turkish food, which includes amazing kabobs, moist and tasty rice, fresh bread, amazing sauces, dips, and soups, then this is the place for you. I would gladly drive over 40 mins just to eat here regularly. But I'm also hesitant to promote this place too much, cause I can see it's success leading to scaling and increased demand, which may hurt me in the long-run. Nonethless, I also feel responsible to share just how much of a treat this place is. And one of the best things is the owner, Emily, who is almost always there, and makes you feel like you're family who has been invited to join an warm home cooked meal.

Delicious delicious delicious! I haven’t had much Mediterranean food before. I got the chicken kebab, baba ganoush & baklava for dessert. The chicken kebab blew me away… it was so fresh, had nice spice to it. I felt so satisfied after eating it. I had no idea what baba ganoush was and I was so glad I tried it. It was totally different than I imagined but even better! Has a nice almost grilled flavor to it, delicious. I could’ve eaten the whole container. And the baklava was syrupy and fresh! I got take out, have never dined in but definitely plan to. And for take out, the portions were wonderful. 10/10!

My husband and I ate here for the first time tonight. After hearing of this place, seeing a lot of wonderful compliments, and loving this type of food, we had to try it. There's nothing like it in this area that I know of. We will DEFINITELY be coming back. Emily is amazing...God bless her she was busy as anything, pretty much doing everything herself. She was so gracious, really took care of us, and seemed honored to have us there. The food was absolutely incredible. We had a wonderful appetizer of homemade pita bread and a mix of her homemade hummus and such to go with... all scrumptious. For dinner I had the lamb kebab, and my husband had the lamb Adana. Every part of it was amazing. My lamb was cooked to absolute perfection, the rice had delicious flavor and the salad was refreshing and crisp. Then came dessert... her baklava. Lordy that did me in! Soooo goooood!! She offers takeout also, which may be favorable for some. Loved everything about this restaurant, and in my opinion, Emily is a blessing to the area and to those she serves. I wish her nothing but the best and hope her restaurant continues to flourish. :) ...

To be fair, I have not officially “dined” here, but I just had the best experience at a restaurant that I can recall. I was driving on my way to a later business meeting when I saw the sign above the building and was really excited about getting some Mediterranean food. I could barely see the sign because a truck was unloading fresh supplies. I didn’t even notice what time it was: 11:30am. I walked up the steps and was met by an adorable lady with a thick accent (Mediterranean maybe? :). She explained that they weren’t open and apologized. I immediately told her it was no big deal. “No problem. Thank you”. But she told me to wait there and dipped back into the restaurant. I was honestly thinking of walking back to my car because I wasn’t sure what she was doing. But she was so nice! I couldn’t just walk away.

She came out with a plastic to go container with some form of dessert (not baklava, but close) and asked if I was allergic to cashews! Who does that?!?

God bless you, young lady! And thank you! I don’t care if I’m only out here for business. I am...
