I was at the old location years ago and the food was delicious. My friend and I just recently visited the new location and the food is still delicious.
Unfortunately, the new location is small and crowded (like the old place). The bar service was terrible as it took forever to get a drink. Also, I always thought getting a seat at the bar was first come, first serve. Apparently, not at this place. My friend who arrived before me was waiting just as long as another couple that was waiting across the bar. A couple that was beside us sitting at the bar offered their seats to us as they were getting ready to leave. As we were getting ready to sit down, the couple across the bar came over and the guy said he didn't know what we were thinking and that they are sitting there. I was a bit shocked by his rudeness and so I said the couple offered their seats to us. The guy said he didn't care as they were waiting to sit for over 20 minutes. Then the bartender yelled at me and said they were waiting before us. So I told her that was fine and that she didn't need to be rude.
Suggestion To The Owner: If you are going to seat people at the bar to eat, then they should have reservations to sit there. The bar was crowded because people were waiting to eat at the bar and at tables. Luckily, we made reservations so we did have a place to sit eventually hence why I didn't make such a fuss to sit at the bar. I was just shocked by the rudeness of the patron and the bartender.
So if you're planning to eat here, make a reservation and don't get there early to wait at the bar. My friend and I will not be...
Read moreI was actually really disappointed with my experience there last night I love this restaurant because of the wonderful products especially meats that they use. The first time I went I had a much better experience however this time the dishes I had were not what I would expect from a seasoned chef. The first dish I had was shark. The meat was cooked perfectly and tender but the spices on the fish completely took over and it was over salted and over seasoned and I love salty food. They explained that it was the adobo seasoning but I observed lots of raw salt on my plates as well. I actually ended up sending the plate back. I ended up getting crab and portabella au gratin. The crab on the dish was tender and succulent but there was so much cheese on the plate it was absurd. It was the same thickness of the portabella it was melted on. The sauce was tasty but again oversalted. It just seemed like such a waste of beautiful meats and really made me sad when I left there. I honestly wanted to write this as an email to the restaurant but I could not find any contact information on their website other than a phone number. I think this place has great potential and I would hate to see the food ruined by...
Read moreWhat a GREAT PLACE: excellent food (the absolute best in the greater Pittsburgh area in my humble opinion), really, really good service (by the most attentive and courteous Elly), and a really nice atmosphere.
Food: Since we are geezers and live about an hour away, we went for the early bird special. Our reservation was for 5:00 and we were promptly seated by a courteous hostess. Elly apprised us of the daily specials of which there were quite a few. She spoke expertly about them all. Colleen had the lobster stuffed ravioli served with gulf shrimp in a silky pink leek sauce with pine nuts. FANTASTIC! I had the Cajun pork chop, peppercorned and served with stuffed banana peppers and tomatoe sauce. Also FANTASTIC as well as spicy - yum. The chop was 1" thick and could not have been better cooked. Both came with different and equally delicious mixed vegetables. (These veggies were perfectly cooked.)
Service: From the hostess to Elly to the other assistants everyone was attentive and proficient. Service truly is EXCELLENT.
Atmosphere: The place is quite small but is tastefully appointed with large mirrors, brick and wood to create a pleasant environment for dining.
HIGHLY, HIGHLY...
