I'm usually not someone that post a review but I have to say something. This was the first time I've eaten at bonefish grill in a long time I stop going for years because the food wasn't that good for the price and the service wasn't great then . previous time before I had great food and service so I don't know if they switched management. Or owners, but seems like since then. The service and food as wink downhill. So with all that being said. I was out riding Harley with my wife and we For nowhere near somewhere we somewhere we normally eat. So we saw the bonefish. And I figured what the heck. The food has got to be better after all these years and it a nice Atmosphere So I was optimistic Open the Service and food would be better I was sadly mistaken . First off. After being seated which didn't take long because There was only a few people scattered throughout the bar.And one or two tables In the outside seating area Our waiter Was polite but seemed to be under Staffed he was running around like he had a lot going on so I think he was running drinks for the front bar plus the outside seat area and the dinner where we had be seated He promptly got us waters. And asked If we wanted anything else to drink we hadn't had a chance to look at the drink.Happy hours special so we told them we were undecided He came back a few minutes later. We ordered drinks. 🙌 I'm started looking at the menu for something to eat He came back about five minutes later which wasn't bad And we ordered food After about fifteen Minutes Which I? Thought was quite a long time Lemon drop and a manhattan Nevertheless, we got our drinks. They were okay. But OK, the lemon drop was a bit speed. And and the Manhattan. Might have had a little bit too much Bitters in my opinion 🤔 Shortly after they bring us some bread and butter Which was good also We had conversation for a while and then started wondering when our feet was going to come out I ordered Mahi and shrimp with 7oz Steak my wife got Seared ahi Peppered tuna After finally getting our food around 45 minutes later. My fish was dry and overcooked The shrimp was good That was on top of the fish . And? The sides were exceptional 👏 but my steak was Medium well when I asked for it to be medium rare, even the manager agreed. It was Overcooked Also I ordered the steak as another meal in it On a plate with just a steak I was wondering why the waiter didn't ask me what sides.I wanted for my steak but I figured it was. Just going to come with some steam vegetables and potatoes. Which Would have been okay But I didn't say anything It came out on just a plate I was thinking it would just be a add.On at all because they have the option in the menu to add a steak or lobster tail or shrimp to any meal Anyway I finished my shrimp beside disyes but left the fish on the Plate As I was. Waiting for the waiter Back around To let him know that I was not satisfied Fish And started to eat the steak. Then discovered that it was not cook properly. The regional. Manager. Came out And could see the Distraught., look on my face and ask me if everything ok I then showed him that my fish was super dry He agreed and then cut deep into the center of the steak And he agreed that it was looking more on the medium well side then medium rare he politely.Ask me if I would like them to cook another steak and fish off bill and offered to have a new Fish cooked But at that time I was just frustrated and figured it would take too long and we were already. Ready to go. And I. Knew it wouldn't take long for a medium Rare or steak to be cooked on the fly. And he told me he would have it out immediately, which he did and added the sides that it should have came within the first place, so that was a plus also the steak was Juicy and had good flavor. My wife's Seared ahi tuna Looked appetizing But unfortunately. It was cold. We told the waiter that her seared Tuna was Cold.He said that's the way it comes . that a First time of us she's had that dish many times Other places but she eat it anyway like Sushi. we...
Read moreOn my son's 17th birthday, he got to choose ANY place to eat for b-day dinner. 1st, it was burgers... but then I said, "I know you aren't big on seafood buddy, but I know you love the crab cake sandwich at Bonefish. Do you want burgers somewhere, or do you want Bonefish?" He said, "Actually, crab cake sammy sounds delicious."
We've eaten at this Bonefish no less than 50 times in the last 6-7 years. Easily have spent over $5,000 in that time. I always, always tip 20% or better. Anyway:
I remembered crab cakes were not on the menu over the summer, due COVID. I checked, they had crab cakes appetizers, but no crab cake sandwich. So, I called them, and the front desk gal, she initially said she wasn't sure/would check. She was only gone like 10 seconds, then came back on the line. She said she was sure they would be able to do that for us.
Off we were! We got there, and were the 2nd people in the entire restaurant. We arrived not long after they opened. So, one of two tables when we began. We got seated, got our drink orders, and everything started going downhill.
Server was in the bar waiting on people. We are in the dining room. 10-15 minutes, we’re ignored after drinks and bread are brought. Finally we order:
-1 kids popcorn shrimp 2 crab cake sandwiches, one was mine. 1 Fish tacos.
Should have taken maybe 10 minutes, considering we were the 2nd people there. 10 minutes pass. 20 pass. After 25 minutes, our server had STILL not been by our table. Not once! I stop a different server, say it's been a while, can he find out what's going on with our food,? He says no problem and says, "It is actually being plated right this minute, you will have it in a minute." Cool!
But then OVER 10 minutes later they finally bring us our food. At this point, I am annoyed.
The manager is a male, about 5'8" tall and 240 lbs, standing there as the food is set. As soon as they set the crab cake sandwich in front of me/my son, I think to myself, "They've GOT to be kidding!" They used one of their TINY appetizer-sized crab cakes for the sandwich! This is literally less than half the size of their normal crab cake sandwich menu item.
I turn to the manager and said, "Sir, you guys used a crab appetizer to make a crab cake sandwich..." He says, "Yeah?" I said, "You guys aren't going to charge us the usual price for a crab cake sandwich, are you?" He replied, "I didn't know we were negotiating prices."
SERIOUSLY? THAT was his reply?? It was rude, condescending, and he should be fired for that alone. Is this really the "service industry" now?? This is "service"? I was taken aback! I said, "Sir, this is less than half the size, half the amount of crab that your crab cake sandwich normally is."
To which he replied, "Crab cakes are not on our menu right now, we did you a favor by making this." Another totally uncalled for thing to say! At this point, I am getting angry, and ask incredulously, "Are you serious right now? So you're telling me that you are going to charge me the full and usual price for a crab cake sandwich of something usually on your menu, despite it being less than half the size of what it normally is?" There is not a snowballs chance in hell this tiny, pathetic thing would have fed a full grown man and a teenage boy turning 17, nor made either of them full.
The manager says, "Hey, I'm happy to take them from you." I said, "We came here BECAUSE of these sandwiches, for my son's birthday." I then asked the price. He REFUSED to tell me. I ask again, "I don't know." I said, "You want me to take crab cake sandwiches less than half the size of normal, at regular price, but won't tell me the price?" And he said he "would have to go look at what we charged when they're on the menu."
I said, "Forget it." He said he'd get us something different, but if I ever did this again I'd be banned from Bonefish. I looked at my wife, said "We're leaving." He said we are now banned from Bonefish as we're leaving. Holding my 2 year old in my arms, I say, "DUDE, you really think we would EVER com back...
Read moreHi there, I have never once written a review before. However, I feel that now would be a good time to reach out. A little while ago, my fiance and I went to Bonefish Grill. We were very excited to try this place, as we have heard many great things about the food and service from family friends. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. When we stepped into the restaurant, servers and staff members looked at my fiance and I, but would turn around and walk the other direction. We were waiting for service about ten minutes before a hostess came to seat us. I had looked for any signs saying that we seat ourselves, but could not find any. Although this first impression was not fantastic, we decided to let it go and hope for the best knowing that our friends loved to eat here. Once we were seated, our waitress left without saying a word. She gave us a menu, but turned around and disappeared. We were finally given water glasses about ten to fifteen minutes after being seated. After she dropped off the glasses, she left again without saying a word. I felt that this was super weird, as I have never experienced service like this before. My fiance and I look young, and I do not want to make any assumptions, but we felt that maybe the server did not think we would tip. However, I have worked in the service industry and understand the importance of tipping. Additionally, my fiance ordered a drink when our waitress came back to the table. She stated things like, "What do you want?" and "Anything else?" in a manner that made us feel like we were an inconvenience. We had thanked her multiple times, but she never said anything back. She would just turn around and walk away. She was super friendly to the table of four next to us, though (The only other customers in the restaurant). Unfortunately, the complimentary bread was moldy. Our water glasses were dirty, my fiances caesar salad was pink, and his steak was raw. He asked for the steak to be medium rare, but it was completely raw; almost as if the cook had only seared the top and bottom. He never complains about food and is not picky, but he did not eat this. Our server never came back after delivering the food, so we could not have it put back on the pan. She eventually came out with the check, looked down at his plate, and said "Do you want it cooked longer?" But by that time, we had already shared my shrimp tacos and were no longer hungry. Like I said, I have never written a review or complained about restaurants because I have worked in the food and service industry, but I feel that this experience should not go unnoticed. Our bill was over $120, and I just feel as if this experience was not worth it. I mean, this could definitely have been an off night for the restaurant, but I think it's important that someone becomes aware of...
