EXACTLY What We Hoped For!
We drove from two states over just to try this place, hearing that it was authentic Chinese Hot Pot, and after reading reviews. It did NOT disappoint! The place, though somewhat small and doing a fair bit of business, was a nice atmosphere, very clean. We enjoyed the look and feel. Although there is no sauce bar, we ordered every dipping sauce to try. All the sauces were very good, although the leek flower sauce won as our favourite and was refilled by our kind wait staff several times. The service was excellent! We never went without kind service- asking if we needed anything, constantly refilling our broth whenever low, and tending to our needs in a friendly and courteous manner. We really appreciated the service. EVERYTHING was delicious food-wise; all super fresh. We would recommend the regular beef if you enjoy meat and the mocha ice cream for dessert. As discriminating foodies, we were very impressed by the flavor of the broths (we had the two broths), as they were so perfectly spiced and wonderful all on their own as a soup! We ordered the handmade noodles and did not need a double order. The portions are NOT small, unlike one review I read- nowhere near small. (We went March 24th, 2018, and I am STILL enjoying the leftovers!) Thank you so much to Garden Hot Pot. We are already planning to come back. You are a jewel we fell in love with and are so grateful to...
Read moreWARNING for the HIGH PRICE of this restaurant and the Menu Pics do NOT match what they have in their real food, at least the flavor of the real food is good, but the waiter literally told me all those pics on the MENU are Downloaded on the internet just to make it pretty, and dont refer to it, so what is the purpose of those pics? To mislead us? At least the pics serving sizes looked bigger than the REAL one, so come on, seriously..also, i have to say their MAIN ENTREES are typically an APPETIZER SIZE for a FULL PRICE of a main dish. We ordered some dishes here it is honestly even smaller than the size we had in most of the hot pot restaurants in china, not to mention comparing to all the exotic local restaurants, the serving is TINY! I love the taste but honestly, the noodle was so small amout that may be able to fill up a kid but that is pricy, man...and full of soup, the wontons are Small only like 8 of them in a big soup bowl that is like 10$. Not to mention their hot pot each small plate of food is expensive if you can imagine they dont cook for you and how much that amount cost in grocery store...I wish they could either serve the REASONABLE quantity...
Read moreBe prepared for your life to be changed. For your taste buds to be forever altered. For your love of beef and noodles to never be so strong. Garden Hot Pot is incredible, nay, phenomenal. Be prepared if you are an inexperienced Hot Potter, that you will be confused. But don't shy away from this lovely and mind altering experience. Here's what happens: You pick your broth. Either spicy or non. Or u can get half a pot spicy and half non spicy. This is what I strongly reccomend. Also, their "mild" spice is not mild. I cook Chinese food all the time and I eat Thai food frequently. If you like spicy, get it mild. If you want boiling lava hot, than maybe go for medium. The pot that you are served can easily serve four people. I reccomend u bring them, because as we learned.. the leftover Pot does NOT do itself justice. Than you pick your insides to the soup. We did noodles, (yes they are home made and fantastic) beef, broccoli, and one other thing I cant remember. So delicious. I wish I lived in this city. Pathetically enough, i may visit again just for this food. I wish I could give it thirty seven million stars.. alas, five...
