Gigi Tea Time — Restaurant in Richmond

I have been going to GiGi's since they opened and I have never been disappointed!! This is my ULTIMATE FAVORITE BOBA TEA SPOT EVER!! Gigi has prepared just about every flavor they have. I have also tried the Specialty Chicken and other delectable treat's they offer. If you stop by there don't sleep on the other menu items. The only downside of GiGi's is the location (VCU, Siegel Center and on Broad Street) and lack of parking, however I always make it work ! I have even hosted meetings in the 2nd floor cafe. They provided wifi and catered my meeting, it was a unique experience for all! The menu is perfect for any type of food diet. The owners are some of the kindest sweetest people I have ever met! They are accommodating and so friendly. I have always been particular about my boba, and GiGi's customizes everything to my liking. If you didn't get what you wanted it's because you didn't ask , I can attest to that! This is one business I can honestly say listens to me! Honestly, I've been biased for Gigi Tea for a long time, but for good reasons both personal and objective. If you want excellent quality tea, or a really gorgeous sweet treat in the boba sphere, this is where you go, full stop. There are plenty of other boba tea shops in Richmond, mostly chain places, and tragically close to Gigi Tea as well as VCU campus, but this locally owned business is really a gem. The owner is very kind and wonderful to chat with, the vibes of the shop are chill and comforting, and I may be repeating myself, but the tea cannot be beat. Just be sure to ask for less or no sugar when getting actual tea if you are a tea enjoyer :). This place honestly deserves a lot more business than it gets with how good the drinks are, especially compared to some other places. It is a bit farther from campus, but super worth it, and reasonably priced. It's a nice open space with a lot of plants and cool tea objects that feels comfortable to wait and relax in. Terrible customer service would not order here again. Ordered hot taro tea with pearl bubbles and the owner said it will take time to thaw because the red bean is frozen... even though I didn't order red bean jelly.

I asked for less sugar and the tea was extremely sweet, probably the sweetest I've ever had taro tea. So I asked him if I could have it with less sugar like I originally ordered and he was extremely rude. He proceeded to angrily throw the hot, nearly full, large tea into the trash can (liquid and all😨), made a point to make an angry and annoyed face and audibly sighed in frustration because he had to spend 2 minutes to remake it.
