If you like Indian food or are curious to try it for the first time, this little gem is not to be missed. entering you know you are in a place of class, featuring a modern, sleek, uncluttered feeling. for lunch, I had chicken tikka masala which was excellent. The waiter asked how spicy I liked it on a scale from 1 to 5. I'm chose 2 as I was raised in a time in which what was considered hot is now considered mild. The heat in my dish was perfect for me. Water is served in a decanter not from a pitcher and the water glass itself is actually beautiful.
The menu allows you to mix each entree with various sauces, so there is a wider variety than you will see in a restaurant ech entree is a fixed combination. there are plenty of vegetarian choices.
Bajra is a great choice for a business lunch with a client, a romantic dinner or a drink at the bar after work.
If you're looking for a new culinary adventure, check it out. I recommend looking at the online menu before you go as there are so many choices to contemplate. Wine and Indian beet...
Read moreI've been to a few different Indian restauraunts in Richmond and this is absolutely my favourite. We got a veggie platter for the table, every component was delicious. I got butter chicken and plain naan, the butter chicken was super flavourful and the naan was unique in texture and amazing in flavour, very buttery. Everyone at my table tried each other's dishes and there were no misses. I am actively looking forward to my next visit in.
Service was also great! Our server was Ricky and he was helpful and nice, very quick to give us more water or clear out plates. Good energy!
The restauraunt was super clean and had fancy vibes, Everything was priced well. Absolutely worth it.
(in the photo there are only 3 naan pieces - It came with 4, but the first was inhaled before the cameras...

Bajra is from the same people who own Carytown Indian, so if you are familiar with that location, you'll be right at home here. I can speak to the Butter Chicken, Chicken Rogan Josh, and Garlic Naan being absolutely outstanding. I've been here about 5 times and I assume I'll be ordering from them 1,000 times more. Part of me wanted to gatekeep this restaurant for how good it is, but it simply needs to be visited and tried by everyone in the area. Pricing is also fantastic and somewhat based towards a student budget. Great date location as well. Try this spot! You will not be...
