Quite literally the worst Philly steak I have ever had. I'm not sure how you did it, but I watched you take it right off the grill and the meat was still only luke warm. It could not have been drier. Probably because you cook every ounce of juice out of the already low-quality meat and then topped it with ice cold cheese sauce out of a bottle after putting the meat on the bun. It could not have been drier. I'm also not sure how you manage to make a sandwich with so little flavor as well. I'd be happy if you turned up the heat in the kitchen and had the cook sweat into it a bit. At least there would be some salt. You don't have white American cheese available? How do you call yourselves a cheesesteak shop? Another fail. I know "wit whiz" in Philly is just processed sauce out of a #10 can, but again, somehow you figured out how to choose the least flavorful of all the canned cheese sauces. I added banana peppers to mine, but they were also blanded down to almost no taste. Absolutely awful. Never again. Oh, and my fountain...
Read moreI have eaten many philly cheesesteaks in Richmond. For a restaurant to have cheesesteak directly under the name, it turned out to be one of the most lousy cheesesteaks I have ever eaten. Yet, I can give this restaurant some credit. The steak itself was probably the best I've had in Richmond, but for the entirety of the sandwich it was dry, the green peppers were barely cooked, the cheese was used lightly and the mayo was non existent. After tax the 12" comes out to a little over 14 dollars. It is presented in two halfs inside of a rectangle box to suggest it has been toppings dropped into a bun. I believe I had my expectations higher due to cheesesteak being in the name of the restaurant, but it turned out to be a lousy fast food throw in the toppings carelessly made sandwich. I can't blame them because it's a chain restaurant, but if you want a cheesesteak worth your value and time don't go...
Read moreMight be ok, but a real disappointment for my first visit.
Ordered online to pick up in the store and when I arrived, I was pointed to a shelf to grab my order. It was not there. Apparently, someone else grabbed it.
Whatever. Mistakes happen. I was ok with waiting, knowing my food would be fresh and hot.
Nope! Wings were hot, but the cheesesteak, served open-faced in the carry out container, was cold and the meat was dry. I live maaaybe 5 blocks away and drove.
Not sure who thought of the customer-facing, self-serve shelf system, but it seems pretty daft to me.
And it might be a good idea to train staff to speak to customers, apologize for the mixup and explain what happened. I learned what happened by listening to staff talk to one another and the only times I was spoken to were to confirm my order and to call my new ticket number.
At least the wings were...
