Station 2 — Restaurant in Richmond

This was a great place to dine at for a casual late night dinner. Due to covid-19, most places in Richmond closed at 8-9:00pm and since I eat usually later than normal people, I found this place to be a perfect fit! They close at midnight, but the bar closes at 10:00PM. They are very covid conscious as they have socially distanced seating, QR code online menus, and exclusively use all recyclable plates and plastic utensils. It's not the restaurant's fault, but man, I wish I could have seen what the place was like before covid and see their normal plating.

It was sad to see so few people in the restaurant because the food was quite good for a fair price. I can't imagine how much more lively this place would have been sans covid, but it was still such a nice venue with great service.

We arrived a little earlier than 9:30PM and thankfully the server allowed us one round of drinks. This is fair since technically the law is that no alcohol is allowed after 10:00PM so just as long as we were finished before that, it was fine.

I ordered the Strawberry Lemonade with half the sweetness and it was quite delicious! It made me wish I came earlier because I would have definitely enjoyed having another one or trying one of their adult milkshakes. It paired perfectly with the spicy bacon jalapeño peppers. These were super yummy, and my only slight complaint would be I wish I was given one more because the order is only 4 peppers.

We both decided to get burgers and they came out really quickly! My friend got the Beer Cheese Burger and I got the edamame vegan burger with mushroom & Swiss. We got chips & fries as our respective sides and both were also excellent ! I could have ordered another side of chips they were so good. My friend thoroughly enjoyed his beer cheese burger, as it was cooked perfectly to temp and he loved the beer cheese. He only wished he had a little more beer cheese.

My Edamame Vegan Mushroom Swiss Burger was great! The edamame puree patty gave it an interesting texture, but I think they did a good job considering it was a edamame and vegan. My only note would be that I wish they gave it some more seasoning and flavour. The mushrooms and Swiss were great with the patty and I would definitely want to come back and try this with the black bean patty. Both burgers were $12 and that was such a steal considering the size of the burgers and sides! :)

All in all, I would love to come back and try some of the other appetizers and entrees. Hopefully when covid ends it can gain more business, but until then, it's a very safe...

I would give this place more stars if I could - not because of the food (which is honestly quiet decent) but because of the amazing employees.

The hostess (I am sorry that I never got your name) greeted us with charm, but despite my 2.5 year old toddler being a little bit, well, toddler like, she smiled and acknowledged him in such a sweet manner.

But the main reason I would give this place 100 stars if I could is the fact that our server, Shane, went completely above, above, ABOVE and beyond for us.

As I said earlier, my party included a toddler (cue the eye roll ), and being a toddler mom, I was not only distracted BY my toddler, but every time Shane came by to get our orders I was never prepared because I was a bit out of sorts. My son kept standing on the seats, I was trying to get his TV show on my phone and I was trying to play defense with my son and the salt shaker - which I am sure is extremely frustrating for any server to deal with. That being said, he kept a smile on his face and he remained patient with me and my entire party.

Shane was great at checking in with our table, and every time he came by to ask “how is everything?” Or “can I get anything else for you guys?” my son would adorably turn around and say “Oreo!” This happened a few times and we all got a kick out of it. Shane politely and sweetly responded back to him along the lines of “I wish but we don’t carry Oreos…” which I thought was extremely charming that he was chatting with my toddler as if he was an adult.

Now after all that, the best part happened, Shane appeared with a small plate with 3 Oreos on it and I almost cried! My son was so happy and my heart just melted at how amazing Shane was to even do something like that when he didn’t have to in the least. Shane went to a store next door and got my son Oreos.

Because of that sweet gesture, I will always and forever recommend people to go here. The food is good but the people are even better.

Just finished an amazing late night meal at Station 2. It was our first visit, and we can't wait to go back, the next time we're in town. It's great to have a solid spot like that, opened late and pumping out some good food. We arrived around 9:45pm, on a Sunday, hoping that the Google hours included the kitchen as well as the bar, and we were happy to see a few people sitting and eating. We didn't know if we needed to seat ourselves or not, so we waited awkwardly for a few and then grabbed ourselves in a booth. Patrick was our server, and he absolutely crushed it! Great service, great attitude, handsome fella is some solid jorts that truly inspired me. It was still pretty hot and humid outside, and he was running around in and out taking care of tables, and maintaining a great attitude. It was a hard choice to decide on what appetizers and entrees to get, as everything was sounding pretty tasty. Wet fries appetizer was SOLID! That brown gravy was super savory and paired great with the fries. I got the Ballpark burger with a side of chili, partner got a Black and Bleu with house made chips. The chili was big time yummy, my favorite restaurant chili that I've had in a long time! The burger was seasoned well and cooked to a solid medium well. Partner agreed on all fronts to her meal as well and also LOVED the chili. I wish we could've tried dessert, but it just wasn't in our budget unfortunately, even though everything is really well priced.
