Terrible experience - we showed up and were told we couldn’t go through one of the entrances bc of an event going on (the people who told us were so rude) so we went around to another entrance, and with no signs or direction anywhere, asked the front desk security where to go. All she said was “go to the second floor”. So we did, and once we got up there 80% of the station was blocked off for the art event, with no signs or employees to direct anyone. We asked two bystanders and they had no idea where to go/what to do. Finally they let us outside and when the train comes I ask a woman if it matters which car we get on and if I can load my visually impaired sister even if I’m not riding. She said doesn’t matter where you go, and I wouldn’t recommend getting on. Well, I had no choice so I loaded my sister on the seat that matched hers. Read moreMain Street Station – Richmond, VA On Sunday, June 22, 2025, my husband and I exchanged vows at the breathtaking Main Street Station. The venue’s historic architecture and soaring ceilings created a timeless, romantic atmosphere that made our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception feel like something out of a dream. Kerese was a wonderful point of contact, helping us coordinate with multiple vendors and ensuring the day ran smoothly. Couples considering this venue should know it’s a raw space—you’ll need to bring in your own caterer, rentals (tables, chairs, etc.), and vendor insurance. Surrounded by family, friends, and the beauty of this iconic Richmond landmark, we created memories we’ll...
Read moreRichmond's Main Train Station, is a relatively well-maintained and accessible facility. Upon entering, the station's historic charm stands out with its large, open waiting areas and vintage architectural touches. It’s not the largest station, but it offers basic amenities including a café, restrooms, and a small gift shop. The station could benefit from clearer signage, especially for first-time visitors, but it's generally easy to navigate.
Though not overly busy, the staff are helpful, and there is often a calm, low-key atmosphere. Parking can be convenient, though it might fill up during peak travel times.
Overall, the Richmond Main Train Station offers a functional and efficient experience for travelers, combining historic elements with the essential services one would expect from a smaller...
