New review: Oh No, what happened guys? It went from such a great experience to a very disappointing one. I orderd the steak Flautas (full plate) and a coke. It was $20 +2 tip. And what I got was so so disappointing. For that price honestly I could have got a solid meal anywhere else. Not sure if I was overcharged or what happened. I paid in cash. No prices on the menu which was very strange. And then the food..... The flautas were made with tiny street taco corn tortillas. It was like an itty bitty tequito but not filled with much of anything. The lettuce was wilted, barely got any refried beans, the rice was alright. I really didn't want to leave this review but I felt I needed to as I would want to know this information before dropping $22 on a really bad unfilling meal. I honestly feel ripped off 😩 You were so amazing before!
Old review: This place is fantastic. The food is amazing! The quesadilla was a definite highlight. And the service was great. The man who helped us was very warm and welcoming. This place isn't that close to my home but I will definitely be making the drive when I want delicious...
Read moreAs all real taco addicts know, there are levels to this game. Tres Hermanas is on the upper levels of the taco game, with mouth watering yummy Mexican regional food, and a house picante sauce that is just killer. Since Carnitas is the holy grail of tacos I always start there, because some places just put pork chunks in a taco, (Not) and other places actually cook this delicacy with a family recipe, or the traditional way. Real Carnitas have tiny bits of fat, (Grasa), "Buche" (Maw) Cuerito" (skin) and tender soft shoulder or butt, lovingly cooked in lard, with oranges, spices, and even coca cola. I have to say I am happy to have found a place on the level of Taqueria El Paisa, (in Oakland on International just off High street) that s a little closer to where I live. These tacos had all those great bits and pieces, and fatty parts, and the meat was tender and delicious.
NOTE: these tacos cost a little more, but do not be fooled. The tacos here are twice the size of the tacos at most taquerias. I highly recommend this place! Great food and also, great...
Read moreFor my wife's birthday, we wanted to try someplace we haven't been to before, and decided on Tres Hermanas since we had heard good things about it. We were not disappointed. It was very busy for a Tuesday night around 7pm, but we were seated within a reasonable time (table for four). The decor and all around feel is very warm, welcoming and fun. We were very surprised how many tables and people they are able to fit comfortably in what seems like a small restaurant. Our drinks came out immediately, and our food was brought to us fairly quickly too and very warm. And the food was delicious. I ordered the #8 combo (chicken burrito and carne asada taco) and loved every bite. Each of us were impressed with our plate, and vowed to return again. Toward the end of our meal, Jose came and greeted us, and upon learning it was my wife's birthday, he brought over a freshly made churro with whipped cream that we all shared, and it was perfect. We will definitely return,...
