Never do I come on here to leave a bad review but this definitely warrants it.
I wish I could leave a 2 or 3 star review but I didn’t even get the chance to try their food. We walked in and began ordering food at the counter since no one was there to greet us. We figured this place was the type of place where you order, sit down and they bring the food to you. Well after ordering with the younger girl (probably the daughter of the owners), she took a phone call and the older lady (owner it seems like) and she deleted the order and started from scratch. After giving it to her again, she complained that we’re not ordering at the table and basically said we have to get our order and leave the restaurant since we’re ordering at the counter. But this was not said in a nice tone, very very rude and close to yelling. Even said “sit down or you get your food and eat somewhere else.”
I told her that we don’t want to order with that type of attitude and she angrily pressed the screen to cancel the order and said “ok, I don’t care. Less...
Read moreI went on a Sunday, im not sure if the original chef was working or had others working for him. But after I took my first bite I had to turn around to see who was cooking our food. As a Peruvian, I can tell some of their food was not authentic and seemed like they were trying to cut corners. First of all, our salads especially la ensalada de cebolla that is use as relish, is made with lime NOT VINEGAR!, ours had vinegar. The anticuchos where hard , dark and chewy and the sauce was more like mojo instead of the creamy spicy sauce we use. The green spaghetti, definitely they use pesto sauce from jar instead of using fresh basil leaves . The papa rellena tasted very flaky and looked and tasted like boxed mash potatoes instead of fresh potatoes. The chupe was very watery and served with no parsley. The chicha tasted like powder mix chicha and added tons of cinnamon to mask the taste. Your restaurant has potential so please don’t cut corners, if you do, then is not Peruvian. We Peruvians are very devoted and proud...
Read moreSmall storefront Restaurant featuring authentic Peruvian dishes. There is table service by a friendly and helpful staff. The food was prepared and presented well and we had an enjoyable dinner. There are combination specials that are worth considering if there are 2 or more in your group. If there are 4 or fewer in your group you will probably not have to wait for a table unless you arrive at the peak of the lunch or dinner times. Many people order by phone and pick up food to take home and that's another strategy. The shrimp ceviche (and other ceviche dishes) are raw seafood prepared with citrus juices. This is normal for ceviche and this place did a good job. The chicken was also good and the fried plantain that was included with the chicken combo was delicious. There is a small charge per container to take leftovers home. See the pictures of food we ordered while there, a menu, phone...
