Zero stars! My mom recently visited this establishment to see if their pumpkin spice latte was available. The owner was extremely rude to her while she made her coffee. She treated my mom like she was an idiot for asking about the pumpkin spice latte. After she left, my mom then called the shop in tears to express her frustration and hurt over how she was treated over a trivial mention of Starbucks. I heard for myself the cruelty, rudeness, unapologetic, and uncalled for behavior. The owner placed blame on my mom insisting that she was rude first, which she was not. The owner said several times that she was offended by the mere comparison to Starbucks. My mom merely expressed during her unfortunate visit that she thought that since pumpkin spice was available at Starbucks that they might have theirs as well. It was harmless and the owner immediately got defensive. It was absolutely ridiculous. I am sure the owner will come on and make a snarky comment responding to this review, as she does for all negative reviews. My one question remains, if my mom was the one at fault, then why was she the one reduced to tears? I watched my mom cry for an hour after this incident. As a small town resident, we prefer to support small business, but this is one establishment that we will never visit again. Starbucks isn’t great compared to local coffee shops, but at least we have never been treated poorly or admonished as a customer for asking if a product was available. We will be sure to share our experience with anyone we...
Read moreI would give zero stars if it was an option. I went into Lava Java today and I was treated so rudely that I will never be back. When I got to the counter I asked if they had pumpkin spice lattes today because I was in Starbucks yesterday and they had their pumpkin drinks. The owner proceeded to tell me that they did not have them yet and just because Starbucks had them doesn’t mean they would. I said I was so disappointed because I was hoping they would have them to which she stated that it wasn’t even fall yet. I said that I’m not a Starbucks person and I was sorry that I even mentioned it because I could see that it was offensive to her. She continued to say that it was offensive because they are not Starbucks. They are so different and they shouldn’t be compared. I said again that I was sorry and I was not comparing them to Starbucks I was just hopeful they had the drink because Starbucks already had them. When I left crying, I called her to tell her how rude she was and she started blaming the whole situation on me and said that I was rude from the beginning. I really was not. She was the one that was so defensive because I even mentioned Starbucks. I spent my entire time in the coffee shop apologizing for even mentioning the other business. Just a warning that if you want to be treated badly I guess this is the...
Read moreCARD ONLY!! Service was good, however, the only thing that bothered me was that they don’t accept cash! When I tried to pay, I was told “Due to 2 Seperate break-ins, they no longer carry cash” Very unfortunate it has to be this way. I’m aware, crime is unbelievably high this year, but what if those crooks come back for the registers and equipment? What if they decide to light the place on fire? Whos to say? That shouldn’t be taken out on the customer. It’s like me saying ‘I won’t serve you unless you have a bank account or a cell phone.’ Nonetheless, the lady who owned the place was very sweet and I could sense that those people who had broken into her business indeed left her traumatized. Also, the drip coffee was very good and the cashier was very friendly. All in all, I...
