Barbeque Shine — Restaurant in Ridgeland

We are traveling from alabama and wanted to get some bbq. It being sunday there aren't many local places open. Found Barbeque Shine on Google. We pulled up and saw it was take-out only. We decided we'd eat in the truck. I was looking forward to some ribs. They were out, and apparently, they are a hot item as the people behind us also wanted to order some. We settled a pull pork plate, Mac and cheese (not a normal menu item) and corn on the cob, a turkey cheese burger, with Mac and cheese, and some beef sausge. Our total was less than $40. When I got in the truck and ready to eat, my burger was missing the patty. When I went back in, the owner was so apologetic. No big deal they were busy! But it gave us a chance to talk with owner. I had heard many good reviews about this place from my coworkers, so on Father's day my coworkers and I decided to eat here for lunch. The staff was nice, but the food was horrible. We had 5 orders, and they were all disappointing. We all stated that ALL of the bbq tasted like straight lighter fluid. Some of the rib tips were tender, but for the most part they were tough, mostly bone, and some just down right burnt. The ribs were baby back ribs, barely had any meat on them, and dry. The chicken wings were dry. The baked beans seems like they were straight from a can, no meat, no onions or bell peppers, NOTHING. I saw this BBQ spot a while back but just never tried it before. So this particular Saturday I decided to stop by & give them a try. I got the rib snack & the pulled pork sandwich for my wife with 2 red pops. The pulled pork was spot on with the flavor & taste & it's more than enough.The ribs were pretty good they had a lil spicy kick to them. I was sold on the sweet & spicy BBQ sauce.
