Extremely Disappointed – Poor Service, No Accountability
I don’t typically write negative reviews, but my experience at the Dairy Queen located at 6952 Old Canton Rd, Ridgeland, MS was beyond disappointing and needs to be addressed.
On April 6, 2025, I placed a mobile order through the Dairy Queen app at 8:00 PM for a 6-piece Honey BBQ Sauced & Tossed Chicken Strip Meal with ranch and fries. The app confirmed my order would be ready by 8:12 PM. I arrived at the location at 8:08 PM and entered the drive-thru line, expecting a fairly quick pickup since the order was placed well in advance.
Instead, I waited in line for over 40 minutes and did not reach the drive-thru window until 8:50 PM. Once I got there, I could see that my food was only just starting to be prepared. This completely defeated the purpose of ordering ahead, and I was incredibly frustrated by the lack of efficiency.
I politely asked the employee at the window if there was any kind of coupon or compensation for the delay. She stepped away, presumably to speak with a manager, and returned about 10 minutes later with a flat “no.” No apology, no explanation, and no attempt to make the situation right.
When I asked to speak directly with a manager, I overheard through the window that the manager, Niko, refused to come speak with me. Then I overheard a staff member say, “Get her—just get her a damn cone,” which was shockingly unprofessional and disrespectful. I felt completely disregarded and belittled as a paying customer.
As someone who has worked in fast food, I understand that delays can happen. But this was not just about being busy—it was about how poorly the situation was handled. There was no accountability, no urgency, and no respect shown throughout the entire process.
I’ve now submitted multiple complaints—one directly to the location and another through Dairy Queen’s corporate site—and still have not received any form of response. Not even an acknowledgment of my concern.
This review is not about getting free food. It’s about the fact that I was treated poorly, dismissed when I tried to address it, and ignored after following the proper channels to resolve the issue. That’s not how a business—especially one with the reputation and resources of Dairy Queen—should treat its customers.
I truly hope this encourages both the Ridgeland location and Dairy Queen corporate to take customer service more seriously. A simple apology and willingness to do better would have...
Read moreMy dad and I came here a few nights ago some time after 8pm last Sunday on April 7th to order food to-go. We both ordered the 4 piece chicken strip basket with gravy, and I ordered a small red velvet cake blizzard with mine. The food was good and we both enjoyed our meals (I had never tried the red velvet cake blizzard before but it is very good from my experience), however the service was below average. The young lady at the register who took our order (short and light-skinned) was well-meaning, but it was evident that she had not received proper training for the job mainly because of how when she gave us our orders she set them on the counter with the boxes wide open because she did not know how to fold it to properly close them. Eventually my dad had to kindly show her how to fold the boxes closed as she tried to do it but was unsuccessful. For the first box she brought out we had to ask her for the cup of gravy that's supposed to come with it, and before that not too long after we had put our order in we don't know exactly why it happened but we were overcharged for our meals at first which the young lady had to go consult someone else about to fix it and we were charged correctly the second time. While waiting for our food, we noticed the restaurant looked very short-staffed with like 3 young folks working there just standing around looking like they just don't care. My father and I both agreed that poor management is evident at...
Read moreThis business needs to close. The wait is always long I've given this location several opportunities to correct their mistakes and it gets worst. I went to purchase 3 blizzards at the drive thru 7 days ago and waited almost 20 mins to discover after I paid the cashier was also the cook who was prepping orders that only consisted of hot food and refused to prepare desserts. The only other associate in the building was nowhere to be found until I parked my car and requested a refund inside. He said he was the manager of another location sent to help out but wasn't really helping. I called the main office to register a complaint and have yet to hear from this location's owner or manager after my 7day wait . Before an insincere, text book answer from the owner is copy and pasted to say you appreciate my response, sorry to hear about my experience and hope I'll give you all another chance, please take action to make customers' experiences better. Stop letting children run and destroy your business or else you will always have plenty of parking and spend more on payroll than you add to...
