Jerk City Grille Ridgeland — Restaurant in Ridgeland

So I am from Chicago was in Jackson for a Family Reunion and I saw this place and decided to try it. It was down from our hotel. So when I went in and looked at the menu first thing I noticed was that they had a variety of foods but not a lot of carribean or jerk items. So I went for what was familiar the jerk chicken. With cabbage and greens and a side of plantains. First thing once I got my food and got back to my hotel opened the box up and noticed that I had a big Johnnie cake not potato bread. Cake was good but not your traditional food for jerk. Then tried the chicken it was tender fall off bone but IT WAS NOT JERKED it seemed maybe baked with no jerk flavor seasoning had some kind of sauce but had no hint of any jerk flavoring. As for the sides cabbage and greens where way way to salty and over flavored. The plantains were tasty however. I hope that maybe someone teaches them actually how to jerk food and maybe we will see it will turn out okay but as of right now. This definitely was not it. No...

Unfortunately, I have to leave a 1-star review for this restaurant. My experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. I walked in to place a to-go order, and while the cashier took my order, she seemed to forget I was even there. She never called out my ticket number, and I ended up being the last person sitting in the building. After waiting 20 minutes, I finally asked if my food was ready—only to find out it had been sitting on the counter the entire time.

To make matters worse, when I got home and tried the food, it was so spicy that I couldn’t even eat it. The spice level was overwhelming and completely ruined the meal.

Overall, this was an unpleasant experience. I wish I could return the food and get my money back. I feel like I completely wasted my time and money at this establishment, and I won’t be...

It’s been awhile since I’ve done any reviews so I decided to do one while I was out for lunch. Stopped in at Jerk City Grille near the Northpark Mall in Ridgeland and all I can say is wow. The service was great. Order was taken promptly and the cost for the food was spot on. Not too long of a wait for the food and as you can see from the picture, there wasn’t a shortage on portions. The jerk seasoning on the chicken had the perfect spice level. It was “hot” enough to feel but subtle enough not to hurt. The jollof rice had an amazing flavor. I will be getting that again.
