HELL NO! This MESS has to be for the locals! No way can ANYONE think this is Jamaican. As soon as I opened the container I knew it was a bust. I was expecting to see grilled chicken. The chicken seems to be baked and it's sitting in BROTH! They call it gravy but there's no way. No scotch bonnet peppers, no real Caribbean seasonings was this marinaded in. It wasn't even marinated! They tossed some Walkerswood marinade on it and called it Jerk! The rice is yellow with beans and green onions. No coconut milk was used to cook it. The cabbage has no flavor at all. I was expecting to see multicolored bell peppers, thinly sliced carrots and onion. NOPE. This was worse than the jerk place I had in Dallas! My husband called and the owner had the nerve to say "everyone has their own opinion on what jerk chicken is" huh? Ummmmm no, Jamaicans KNOW what jerk chicken is! Ppl that eat jerk chicken KNOW what it is! I would've been ok with them calling this brown stew chicken but not jerk chicken. We're totally disgusted and sorry we wasted our time! SOOO YALL MEAN TO TELL ME THE ONLY PLACE TO GET AUTHENTIC JERK IS TO GO TO JAMAICA OR CHICAGO?! Wow! For all the ppl that posted this spot and swear it taste soooo good, ask God for you...
Read moreI have been eyeing this place for a while and wanted to give it a try. We are big lovers of Caribbean food. Upon walking in we were greeted and the person upfront seemed over it. We asked a few questions the responses were very sarcastic. The place has good music and a nice vibe. We ended up ordering Jerk chicken, Curry chicken, Beef Patty, Jerk egg rolls and Cocoa Bread.
The jerk chicken had no real flavor, no spice, and no gravy. The Curry Chicken was better but still lacked flavor, the beef patty was a curry patty (our order was wrong) it was pretty good but the outside was soft. Typically, the outside of a meat patty is orange tinted and flakey - here not the case. The jerk egg rolls had absolutely no flavor. I had high expectations, the dipping sauce was creamy and sour but it did was not ideal for dipping. I do not think any of the meats were marinated. The pieces of meat were tender but not seasoned, the rice and beans had some seasoning, cabbage needed a touch of spice. The cocoa bread was good.
This restaurant has potential - hope to see positive changes...
Read moreWhen you spend $30 twice a week on food, you expect it to be made correctly. The Rasta pasta is decent, but the sauce is watery. When you contact the owner, he tends to downplay the issue and blame it on Uber Eats or DoorDash for the watery sauce. However, it is important to note that I mentioned that I stay only 3 minutes from the restaurant. To make matters worse, I left a comment on Uber Eats expressing my desire for a thick and creamy sauce, but I went a step further by calling the restaurant. Despite my efforts, I still received the same results.
