This review is not inclusive of food, service, or atmosphere. One day we may discern when this restaurant opens for business so we might opine on these features. It’s a bone-to-pick review of administration. What time does La Monstera open? Their website says 5 pm, their voice mail says 5:30 pm along with Google. There’s no posted hours on their door. They don’t seem to answer emails, not mine anyway.
So, like Luma, AAA (water company, and the CRIM(inals) you just have to go there, and we did just that. On a Monday (advertised as open), 5:45 to be safe, our party of 4 opened the unlocked door and the young lady inside said “we’re closed.”
And that’s about it.
La Monstera – A Must-Visit Spot for Had the pleasure of visiting La Monstera for the first time, and it definitely lived up to the hype! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere and vibes were absolutely on point—stylish, welcoming, and full of energy.
The cocktail menu is nothing short of impressive, featuring original creations that are perfectly crafted. Each drink felt thoughtfully made, balancing flavors in a way that made every sip enjoyable. Alongside cocktails, they offer a solid selection of wines and beers, giving plenty of options for any preference.
For food, we went with the Shrimp al Ajillo, which was bursting with flavor—fresh, garlicky, and cooked just right. We also tried the Wahoo Crudo, and it was an absolute standout. The dish was beautifully plated and paired with jalapeños and smoked paprika, adding the perfect touch of heat and smokiness.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed. My wife received her red wine in a glass with lipstick marks. Not an issue, until the waitress poured the old wine into a new glass- my thoughts are that if the glass is dirty so is the wine.
The staff was great andhappy to pour a new glass.
My daughter ordered the tuna steak which was delicious.
I ordered the NY Strip and was told it was the best in Rincon- it was the worst NY I ever had. Half the steak was inedible being fat. And I usually love the fat on a steak. This time it was terrible.
