Tropical Gourmet — Restaurant in Rincón

Tropical Gourmet is one of my favorite spots to eat whenever I’m in Rincón. The arroz con pollo is absolutely perfect; flavorful, comforting, and cooked just right. I also highly recommend the arroz con jueyes, a rich, creole-style rice dish that’s full of flavor.

If you love garlic, you have to try their mofongo. It’s super garlicky in the best way possible, delicious and bold. And don’t leave without ordering empanadillas. You can’t go wrong with any of them, but my personal favorite is the meat and cheese. Crispy outside, savory inside, exactly what you want.

Tropical Gourmet always hits the spot. Local, authentic, and full of flavor. A must-visit when in town....

Ridiculous we bought 3 empanadas almost $14 the shark one was extremely salty plus I’m a Puerto Rican that grew up in a fisherman’s family, that wasn’t shark!! maybe some kind of cheap fish but definitely not shark oh that is with out mentioning the 45 min wait on Monday for just 3 empanadas the prices on the menu were different than what we were expecting total should of been $8.25 plus tax but was charged an extra $5 and some change I would recommend not going to a unorganized and unfriendly...

Wonderful authentic spot for traditional criollo food. Reasonable prices and huge portions. We had an asopao de pescado (mahi mahi stew with rice potatoes and vegetables in broth) and mofongo with fried pork. Mofongo was a little on the salty side but works with the broth that comes on the side. All delicious. It is a no frills spot where you will eat under a canopy, take in the breeze, feel comfortable and enjoy everything...
