Goldberg's Famous Bagels — Restaurant in Ringwood

I called to place an order at 10:36 this Saturday. I think I recognized the voice taking the order as the owner Rob. As I placed my order, exactly as I have ordered in the store for years, “egg sandwich, double egg, double cheese with pepper jack cheese and bacon,” he was so intent on interrupting me to tell me what his sandwiches had on them already, he didn’t listen to my detail of requesting pepperjack cheese. I was told 20 minutes. My daughter arrived at 20 minutes and had to wait with those that had not called in an order for her chance to pick up our order, another 10+ minutes. Not a great experience. She arrived home and my sandwich was exactly “as he makes them” with America cheese instead of the pepperjack I had asked for. I have read complaints over the years about incorrect orders, which can happen, but this was the owner who showed he is careless. I have bitten my tongue, continued to support and talked up Goldbergs because of the hard working counter people such as Kate, Heather and others doing their best. I have quietly returned from home to give them a chance to correct my order, which they gladly do. Rob ruined my breakfast sandwich. I didn’t return to get a correct sandwich since it would mean waiting in line or imposing on those already in line and then waiting for the correct sandwich. I don’t plan on going there ever again. I’ve seen or heard others say that and didn’t anticipate I would feel this way but I do. I am done. Cupsaw...

I've been here in person a few times for both breakfast and lunch on my way to the local lakes, and I have never been disappointed.

Today, with a lot of work to get done at home and unable to leave, I decided to order on DoorDash, but what I was craving wasn't an option to choose. I called the store and asked if I could place an order for something else and just pay them directly to give the Dasher what I really wanted. They were so quick to accommodate and told me what to order and add notes so it was an easier process.

Dude. This sandwich. Just LOOK at the photo. It was absolutely a delicious beast. Once again, NO disappointment. This shop is extremely accommodating and the staff are sweet as hell. If you're looking to make that trip to the lake even better, you can't lose stopping by here!

This place went downhill very quickly. Today I ordered an everything bagel with tofu cream cheese and a simple ice coffee with vanilla creamer. Both were disgusting and so carelessly made. For one, my bagel was flattened (literally looks as if someone stomped on it!) and had a horrible gritty texture and was very tough to chew, and there was way too much everything bagel seasoning for the amount of bread and it was overly salted, absolutely rancid. I’ve never seen anything like it. I was barely given any cream cheese as well. The coffee tasted like water and was horrible. Both were ridiculously overpriced. They also gave me a “free gift” which appeared to me to be a bagel with powered sugar on top ???? Super unacceptable that they would ever okay sending a customer a bagel of such subpar quality.
