My wife and I visited Boulevard Brew on Monday. Before I provide any further details I want to reference something that Brad, the owner, mentioned in his response to her Yelp! review. He says that he reviewed his security cameras before composing his response and here was the conversation as it happened as if he is providing a transcript of the video. He even presents it in a transcript form referring to himself in the third person. First of all if he actually has a video with audio of our entire interaction I would ask him to download the video from his system and upload it to YouTube, Facebook, or some other platform and provide a link as a response to my review. I think it will make it crystal clear what actually happened regarding the conversation.
Even his last comment of his response inferring that she downloaded the Yelp! app solely to bash a local business shows his intent. The fact that she is never posted a negative review about any business ever should show that this is something that really upset her. And to be clear places like Yelp!, Google Reviews, & Facebook, are places where legitimate paying customers are entitled to share their experience with other people to hopefully help prevent them from experiencing something similar. I'm sorry that Brad feels that someone honestly sharing their negative experience at his coffee shop is perceived to be bashing.
At this point I would just ask him to share the video so that way it completely removes any "he said", "she said" from the equation and everyone can see exactly how...
Read moreK, I don't do reviews usually but I'm feeling inspired (caffeinated) and I really LIKE this coffee shop. I've been here once before and the coffee was good then, but -
There is a new owner as of this week. I have gone twice since he re-opened and had coffee there and it was well above average. The menu is really similar from the first time I went. I wasn't sure what I wanted so I got the new owner to surprise me both times. He ascertained whether I wanted iced or hot both times and whether I liked sweet or not and holy cow was that great coffee both times. The first time he did a white chocolate frappe type drink with a shot of espresso and it was so smooth. The second was an iced coffee and because it was evening and I didn't want quite as much caffeine (they have a lounge that serves beer and wine on Fridays) he did another white chocolate with a toasted marshmallow syrup and a coffee shot. Again, so smooth. I do like my coffee sweet but not too, too sweet and it was perfect. No bitter after-taste like you get at some places. I can tell this is going to be a new regular spot.
The new owner said he's planning on adding some home-cooked pastries and other treats soon so I'm looking forward to trying those as he expands. This place just has a really good vibe. Lots of seating options in the front and back by the bar, too. My boyfriend's daughter was all chilled on the sofa with a drink and her switch and bf and I just liked the place. If I were still in school I'd bring my laptop and...
Read moreI've come here a few times now. I really enjoy the atmosphere of the place - very clean, cozy with vintage twists. The drink menu is excellent and the employees are always friendly.
However, in the 6-8 times I've been to this location, I've had at least two drinks I've paid for that came out wrong. They taste great but are not what was ordered. Different people each time and never when busy, so I'm not sure if they're not trained on how to make every drink on the menu or what. Each time, they always promise to make it right and do their best to deliver on that promise. Also, the music is just slightly too loud and distracting for studying, or I would come more often. For both of those reasons, I am giving this place four stars.
I've had their food for lunch one time (a ham sandwich special) and was impressed.
Overall, an interesting place with good food and beverages for a good price. Set up better for socializing with one or two people over coffee than...
