I am still upset , confused and appalled about my experience at this restaurant. After seeing numerous videos via Instagram and the good reviews I believed that I too would enjoy this place . Unfortunately, my experience was TERRIBLE ! The customer service was just so-so . Which honestly i could care less about as long as the food was good but it wasn’t . They had just opened for the day and were already stating they were sold out of items. The cashier said they had been out of Hawaiian rolls all week which was confusing to me because there are several grocery stores literally down the street . If it’s only Hawaiian rolls and not a specialty item then why not just go pick some up ? Just a question .. food for thought 🤷🏽♀️ anyways no big deal I thought . I proceeded to purchase my food which came up to about $60 . I was thinking oh this must be good cause it ain’t cheap . My rice was disgusting because It was hard/ crunchy and unseasoned . My green beans tasted like they were straight out of the can which actually would have been okay with me but they tried to fancy them up to disguise that fact and used some kind of hot peppers . So now I am eating spicy green beans and no it wasn’t like putting hot sauce in it ! Hot vegetables with no flavor .so basic at a hot mess. My Turkey leg was burnt to a crisp which I couldn’t even tell until I bit into it because it was smothered in this nasty jerk sauce . The Instagram photos and videos depicted the meat just falling off the bones … smh the devil is a liar ! The texture of the meat was very tough which makes me think they actually baked them first and then tried to place them on the smoker to get that smoked taste . Of course after baking in the oven too long and then cooking some more on the smoker they became rubbery . Okay so here is where my 2 stars come from … because it was about to be zero . However , the corn was okay and the bake beans were good even though of course those come out the can too but I’m cool with that . I usually don’t try and write terrible reviews especially if it’s a black owned business but I have to be honest on this one because I wish someone would have warned me and I could have saved money and time . So with all that being said I tasted everything and ate nothing … all of it needed up in the trash where it belonged. Wouldn’t recommend this place just go to your grandma house on Sunday for a plate ....
Read moreWow, they're so much I can say, Turkey is 1 of the only meat i can eat, so that's why i kept going back, (4 times)1st off they're so inconsistent with they're cooking and it's really hit or miss, with the food, but Im always trying to tweek it for myself, so after getting extra sauce everytime, and seasoning it up myself (original flavor always), I made it work for me.
This last experience was the worst I've ever experienced as a consumer, It took me 20 minutes in line, so it was understandable. I Was happy to see business was picking up, especially since it's black owned. I actual say 3 of my co workers, that I recommended. So I ordered as I always have, with extra meat juice, after placing my order i proceeded to sit in my car, after me waiting 30 minutes for the buzzer that never went off. So i decided to go inside.
When I got my food, there was little to no sauce, so I asked for more, since I had 3 orders, I was told they'll put it in a separate containers, in which I was ok with that. The young man then gave me 1 small side containers of sauce, so i asked for more, I was then told they're not giving more so I asked for a refund to 1 of my orders, (all this within a 3 minute time span).
The owner came to the front, yelling at me saying I have been causing disruption with her customers for the past 20 min, and she then told her employee to lock all the doors. She then told everyone their food was free for my behavior, everyone, including my daughter and i was dumbfounded, the owner continued screaming at me saying I'm refunding your whole order. I tried to speak with her quietly but she was so disrespectful yelling and acting like a straight fool, Not allowing me to utter a word.
It was terrible, and as I sat in my car afterwards, trying to collect myself, and process what just happened. 4 customers came to car to apologize that I had to deal with such behavior.
I'm serious in promoting Black owned business especially owned by a Black woman, although her employee tried to calm her, she definitely showed her lack of Customer...
Read moreMy first experience at Turkey on the Loose was unfortunately one of the most unprofessional encounters I have ever had with a business.
When I first arrived, the establishment was closed, with a sign posted stating they would reopen at 1:00 p.m. Since it was only 12:30 p.m., I did not mind waiting and returned at 1:00 p.m., at which time the business was open and serving customers.
Upon entering, we were greeted and reminded to review the menu before approaching the counter to order, which was reasonable. However, the situation quickly escalated when a young gentleman—who had been waiting since 12:30—placed his order and jokingly commented that it would have been nice if the business had opened on time. The cashier and the customer exchanged words, after which the cashier abruptly told him she would refund his money, stating he could “just go to Chick-fil-A” instead.
The customer clarified that his comment was meant as a joke, and he expressed that he genuinely wanted to try the food, as it was his first visit. Despite this, the cashier proceeded to refund his payment and refused him service. At this point, I spoke up and suggested that the situation should be de-escalated so that the customer could receive his order. The cashier insisted that he was not joking and stood by her decision.
As a result, several customers, including myself, left the establishment without ordering. This type of conduct reflects poorly on the business. If we want to build and sustain successful businesses within our community, professionalism, respect, and customer service must be at the forefront. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to try the food, and based on this experience, I cannot support a business that operates in...
