McDonald's — Restaurant in Riverside Township

I have the displeasure of calling this my local McDonald’s location.

Typically, I get served through the Drive-Thru, and interactions are usually quick and brief, so I somewhat understand being short or forgetting to say “thank-you.” However, dining in is more of the same.

I’ll start this off by saying that Lane Enterprises should absolutely be ashamed to call this location a part of their franchise. The staff here could not care less about who they serve, what they do for a living, or being pleasant. I went inside on the afternoon of March 12, 2025 and waited for five minutes at the counter before someone even noticed that I was there. The young men and women who work at this location are too involved in social media, showing each other short-form content on TikTok and Instagram, as well as talking or texting on their personal devices.

Staff at this location also allow people to loiter in the lobby that will host very loud and unpleasant conversations, and allow non-paying “customers” to use the company telephone to call for a ride. I observed this very clearly on my 15-minute wait for two cheeseburgers.

I placed my order with a young woman who acted very disgusted in lieu of my presence. I exchanged the pleasantries; “I’ll have this please,” and in response I received the utmost disrespectful conversation I’ve ever had in a fast food restaurant, specifically from an employee. I have never once had a friendly exchange at this location, be it in the drive thru, or in the lobby. Every staff member here with the exception of maybe two is absolutely appalling to deal with. I have never met a group of people more abundantly miserable in my life.

The food quality regardless of the time of day is incredibly poor. I understand that this is fast food, however I have had the food from other McDonald’s locations in Wichita that has tasted better after being kept in the refrigerator for a week than “fresh off the grill” from this location.

Save yourselves the headache and go to 47th and Broadway. Thank me later.

Lane Enterprises seriously needs to remind all staff at this location what its franchise values are, because while your day might be hell, it takes absolutely NOTHING to be a decent person to someone you don’t know by saying “thanks for coming” or “you’re welcome” at the end of your business with them.

DO NOT EAT HERE! We waited in the drive through for 30 minutes, 20 minutes of that was at the window. Finally after 15 minutes at the window the young lady comes to the window to tell us that they have ran completely out of fries and wanted to know if we wanted a different side. I asked what other sides they had and she looked at me blankly. I told them if you can't complete our order we will need some money back. She handed our burgers out of the window and it was 1 big mac short. We waited a few minutes for the manager to get us the money for the fries that we were not getting and as the young lady handed us the money I informed her that we were 1 big mac short. She looked at me as it was a joke and said wait you had 2 mcdoubles right? I replied yes 2 mcdoubles plain and 2 big macs no lettuce. A few minutes later she brought the missing big mac (which wasn't as I ordered it) handed it to me and informed me that it was made fresh just for me. It infact was not fresh nor was any of the other items that we waited 30 minutes for. Not 1 time did anyone (including the manager) apologize for our wait or for the incomplete order. This is the worst service I have ever had at this particular McDonald's and that is saying something since I have been handed a big mac that had no meat on it at all and several times gotten a diet coke instead of the coke...

Very rude customer service! Highschool girls wanting to cuss at me when I had children in car. I asked to see a manager and the manager on the floor just smiled and walked away. Girl at the window wanted to say I made a racist comment all because I was told the wrong total so I was asking for the correct change back to the total I was told. When she told me the mistake the other guy made by telling me the wrong total she had to say “he was dropped on his head as a baby” (not my business or hers to go telling everyone). I then said okay i was just told the wrong total, thank you. And drove up to the next window. She then goes up to the food window and starts very rudely shoving my stuff out the window. When I asked her to plz lose the attitude, I was then cussed out and told she could refuse service and asked what I was gonna do about it. I asked for my food so I could go on with my day and they just closed the window on me. When the manager in the back finally came up I got the Diet DP I was missing but still was not given my child's sprite. Very rude all around!
