First off, I’d like to start of with the good before the bad. The customer service here was good. The lady at the register was very sweet. Gave me Mom and Pop shop vibes, kind of tucked away but in a high traffic area. Me and my father came together and he loved his food, he actually recommended it. But, unfortunately I will not be coming back. I got a Pastrami sandwich with spicy mustard, pickles and grilled onions and a side of the chile lime chips and a drink. I enjoyed the chips and somewhat the drink, but once I ate the pastrami sandwich my stomach started to hurt. I came in between 2-3:30, I was okay until 6:30-7:00. I got inside to my apartment and it was pure hell from sundown to sun up. I had a very bad case of food poisoning, I almost had to go to the ER. Luckily my mother and wife work in the medical field and took care of me and I didn’t end up going. Today I’ve been bed ridden, slow to move around, had some body aches and a slight headache but felt overall better. My system is overloaded with Pedialyte, sparkling water and coconut water lol but I’ll be fine. I’m not writing this to bash anybody, I understand as a business owner it’s not easy to run a business, it’s actually pretty complex. You have employees and you can’t keep your eye on everyone every second to make sure they’re doing what they’re supposed to and you don’t know what type of day they’re having. But being in the food industry it’s extremely important to make sure the food is thoroughly cooked, well stored and anything that seems like it’s been sitting for awhile thrown out and stations are properly cleaned. Luckily I’m not but if I was an inspector this place would’ve been shut down off of one go that’s why every sandwich should be made with...
Read moreI waited 20 minutes for 1 6” inch ham and cheese sandwich. The teenie bopper girl that took my order and the one I gave my name to was there in front of me making sandwiches. She look at me the whole time and she never once said my sandwich is ready nor did anybody call my name.
After waiting for 20 minutes, I had to call out several times at different clueless teenie bopper who was practically ignoring me, just to check the status of my order. He checked & told me there’s a 6” ham & cheese sandwich here but there is no name on it just a phone number. I told him I gave the girl my name, and nobody called it out, and he just shrugged. No apology. Btw, I never did receive a text that it was ready.
Besides all of that, they got my order all wrong. They still put lettuce & tomato when I told them only ham and cheese with only mayo, but got no mayo. He literally gave me the opposite of what I asked, and my daughter is super picky so she won’t even eat it; that’s a wasted sandwich.
The line was up to the door, and the only two workers making sandwiches were slower than molasses not caring that there was nobody attending to the line at the register. I will never come here again, and I will spread the word how terrible the...
Read moreI hate to post this as I always post positive reviews. I went in D’Elias on Thursday afternoon 07/15/21. Not busy but there were 5-6 young teenagers doing something and coming in and out. I ordered a whole ham grinder and salad to take home. They were all so busy chatting to each other going in and out with buckets that the person behind the counter was totally distracted. She did a good job helping me but my sandwich was terrible. 1 slice of ham, some oil, no seasoning and at least 3” if lettuce. I love this place and have been going to the one on University since the ‘60’s. I’m sure it was just the distraction but it will continue if someone of authority doesn’t say something to them. The food is to expensive to waste and I was very disappointed. This certainly won’t cause me to quit coming as I love D’Elia’s and have many wonderful memories. Just fix the...
