Happy Buffet — Restaurant in Riverside

Currently at the time that I am writing this review, this restaurant is a 3.5 star average with Google reviews. I think that is a fair rating based on my experience.

First I would like to point out the positive experiences that contributed to my opinion. The restruant and restroom was clean. The employees were friendly and attentive in taking away dirty dishes and offering refills. The price of the meal was an excellent value based on the food quality. All of the food that I sampled was tasty and distinctive (sometimes at other buffet restaurants the dishes are similar in taste with little variation). The hot sour soup was off the chart delicious ( I went back for seconds )

Secondly, I need to point out the negative experiences. The sushi was overly bland and there was little distinction between the different rolls. Several of the items were cold. Having over 25 years in the restaurant business, it was easy to tell why. The food was being served in plastic bins on the steam table. The plastic bins are for refrigerator storage and the metal bins are to be used for heated food to remain hot on the steam table...that being said it seems that they just took the food out of the refrigerator and placed it on the steam table hoping to warm it up. To me that alone made any score above a three impossible.

Would I dine here again, ehhhh....most likely not. Normally that being said I would knock off another star, but this being written a few days later and I didn't get sick from the experience, I'm going let...

I don't like posting negative on anything, believing there's a positive spin on something, somewhere, not here though. We walked in and saw a "B". Should have said nope right there, my bad. Food isn't the flavor its labeled and everything tasted fishy. All this aforementioned wouldn't have caused my negative post. I had left the restaurant to have a cigarette, outside. My 4 year old and his Dad were at the table still. I forgot a lighter and went in to get it. My 4 year old and his Dad were back at the buffet. I walked over to him, got said lighter, and was on my way outside, again. No sooner had l started to come within sight of the exit I heard the server ask if we're leaving. I said no and proceeded to leave the restaurant. The waitress begins to yell at me saying I was trying to leave and not pay...in front of the entire restaurant. I yelled back (not my finest moment) that my party is still there and I'm coming back. Three employees follow me to the front door where my car is parked, literally. Sorry not Happy and...

There is a Asian waiter in his mid 40s that literally forces you to leave tip . Our bill was less than $110 and we left a $10 tip because the waiter only came once to refill our drinks and we had to wave him down to do that. When it was time to pay we put the $10 cash on top of the receipt and he grabbed the pen and started tapping the receipt loudly pointing at the 15% tip and my husband and I looked at each other like is this guy serious and then he started putting the receipt in our faces pointing at the tip with his finger and demanding we should leave him more money . We felt so uncomfortable that my husband just took out a $20 bill so he could leave us alone. It was the worst experience ever!! We stopped going here and now that I think about it we should have said something but at the moment we were just in shock that a server was doing this to customers . Unacceptable!!!That server...
