“Leadership update: We’re still working on it but, don’t hold your breath!”
I LOVED this place, yes past tense. I frequented this restaurant once a week for the past two years and it saddens and upsets me that I will no longer give them my business.
My wife and I craved their shrimp tacos and carne asada nachos, so we decided to stop by before heading home from such a long day running errands. A hard life, but someone’s gotta live it! Once we were comfortably positioned in front of the TV in our cozy bedroom, we noticed that my wife’s order was incorrect. GASP! They gave her the chile rellenos plate. DOUBLE GASP! Not the shrimp tacos she originally ordered. She tried to eat it seeing as how we were already home; however, it was too spicy. Poor thing, she gave it her best shot!
I suggested that she call Los Fredos and explain the mishap and see about returning the order. Silly us, what were we thinking? A woman who we nicknamed “smiley” answered the phone and as my wife began to tell her what had happened, smiley shouted if you don’t like the food or can’t eat it, bring it back for your refund. Hanging up we were shocked at the treatment from the so-called owner.
My wife and I jumped into our car and drove 15 minutes to the restaurant to get our order corrected or, at least our money reimbursed. Fair, no? Once we arrived, I told the cashier that we were returning my wife’s plate and would like the order she placed the first time, ya know, now 30 minutes ago? Smiley refused to hear our explanation of what had happened and outright called us liars and refused to fix her another plate. Smiley handed over the money and we noticed that she only gave back half the bill. I pointed out that we also ordered the carne asada fries and seeing that we had to make the trip out here, would either like it replaced or reimbursed. Smiley would not give us the full amount, she said crossing her arms in a huff, “not my problem.” WHAT!! Are you ducking kidding me? After trying and failing to argue our point of view, my wife and I left without food, half our bill comped, and tempers flared by a bad attitude. What a douche bonnet!
The food was great and will be missed, but ya ain’t the only Mexican place in town. I feel so sorry for the staff who looked apologetic and helpless to assist, to have to work with such a radiant ray of sunshine. Enter sarcasm here.
Heaven, forbid you find yourself in a standoff with Madame Smiley. Save yourself the grief and eat elsewhere.

I placed an order for the shrimp combination plate and my Wife had the Congo burrito. Unfortunately, I accidentally said I wanted the number 22, which is the chili verde. However, I did say shrimp.
"Smiley" as she's known between my Wife and I, did not clarify upon placing our order. When we got home 10 minutes later we noticed that my order was incorrect. I tried to eat it but, it was just too spicy so my Wife suggested we call in the error.
"Smiley" answered and I explained the mishap and rather than offering a solution, she barked, "if you want a refund come and bring it in." So, we did.
My Wife and I showed up with the food in tow and spoke to "Smiley" since she took our order and advised us to come in. Not only was she argumentative and condescending during the entire conversation, she reimbursed me for my plate and not my wife's very cold burrito. Not my problem she muttered. We. Were. LIVID! Now? My poor Wife is stuck with a cold burrito and no refund or replacement took place.

AMAZING Mexican Food !!!!!! While Los Fredos, on the corner of Magnolia and Jackson, may look like any other drive thru restaurant, I assure You their Food is nothing short of GREAT !!! And I'm VERY picky about My Mexican Food!!! I always start with a "Cheese Enchilada and Salsa". If a restaurant can't get those 2 things right I don't go back! And BOY did they get them RIGHT!!! They have a GREAT selection of food on their menu from Breakfast Burritos, YUM! Tacos (all different kinds) YUM!! Enchiladas, Burritos, Quesadillas, Menudo etc!!!!
