Very disappointed in some of the recent changes. We have been long time customers and have always enjoyed the food and staff. Recently we went to eat dinner on a Monday evening around 8:10pm and although their posted hours state they are open until 9pm on Mondays, when we walked in to order, we were told they were closing in a few minutes. Chairs were already up on the tables, salsa bar was put away and unavailable as well as the soda machine and water were turned off. Poor customer service by Noemi who told us she was the manager on duty. Aside from the staff trying to close early another frustration was when we asked for a cup for water, she said they no longer offer cups for water and instead offered bottle water... That they charge for without telling you! Perhaps the oddest part about the cups for water is that right behind the cashier, they have stacks and stacks of small bule tinted plastic cups... FOR WATER! Also, days earlier when we stopped in for food, we were given one of the blue plastic cups for water. I believe Noemi had already cleaned the fountain drinks machine and instead of saying that, she was trying to lie and tell us "management made a recent change and no longer offers cups of water". I know... This may seem small to some, but simple things go along way in customer service and satisfaction. Very...
Read moreI have gone to Tios on Van Buren and Wood for the last 3 years for lunch almost weekly. I have always called in our order, for times sake, and it was made for us and ready when we got there. They always put our order for us in baskets so we could eat there. It was so nice! A while back I guess things changed. Now they do not and will not do that. They will make it to go. We ask for it to be made for here because we are on our lunch hour and that was a huge reason why we went there. It was so nice to get out of the work place and sit and relax. Today when I called they absolutely refused to make our order to eat there. I understand rules are rules, but the reason I gave this restaurant a 1 star is all due to the person I talked to on the phone who calls herself the manager. She said her name is Christina. Christina told me that she is going to listen to her boss that pays her paycheck and not the customer. I then called to speak to her boss and she tells me that she can't give out that information. Really? You can't tell me who your boss is? I don't think so. I find that interesting. She is the sole reason I will not go there anymore. Which is sad because I would take my family in there to eat often. Thumbs down to their customer...
Read moreOnce again I saw all the hype on social media about this place, about the artwork, about the food so once again I drove 45 minutes to go experience it for myself and I wasn't impressed at all. Now I'm sure at one time all the art and all of the sculptures looked really good, but when I went the patios were closed, we only got to see the main walkway and a lot of the things are run down unfortunately due to weather and time and upkeep. I asked the lady what they're known for and she told me carne asada which I ordered 4 tacos. The meat tastes like it was frozen and defrosted with a very greasy taste. A lot of oil and grease for flavor and nothing else. I wouldn't recommend this spot to anybody and the food that I ordered was not authentic Mexican food. I was hoping salsa or chili would save it but that wasn't that flavorful as well. Once again this is just my opinion feel free to come experience it yourself. But I am getting tired of taking social media influencers opinions and wasting my time and money to try food that is not worth it. Thinking about doing my own reviews on social media. Nobody pays me for my opinion and I don't get my food comped so it bothers me when I waste my...
