Have I been here at 2 in the morning? Yup
Have I been here 2 in the afternoon? Yup
Have I been here plenty of times in between? Absolutely
Why? Frankly because this is THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN UTAH. Trust me, I grew up in San Diego and my grandfather was 100% Mexican from TX.
Since moving to UT, my wife and I have been on a quest to find the best Mexican food because to us this is comfort food (she grew up in SO Cal as well). Gual Bertos meets this need PERFECTLY. The food is well cooked and perfectly portioned. The burritos all come out the same size day to day (not like the other guys where one day you'll get a newborn baby sized burrito and the next you'll get something the size of a rolled taco).
Next let me tell you about what I have seen having been there a tons of different times during the day and night. I have seen them stewing pinto beans for their refried beans, I have seen them slow cooking their amazing guacamole sauce in a giant pot from scratch ingredients. The restaurant is always clean and the kitchen is always clean as well.
I had a poor experience at a Rancherito right by my work this week and this just confirms to me why I should have never strayed from my beloved...
Read moreWhere did the days of a 5 buck breakfast burrito go. Theses places are vital to the average American for recovery. Munchies, drunks, baked all them this is the place that always hits the spot. Went here for lunch cause it sounded good my brother and I got 2 breakfast ritos and a drink and it was 30+ bucks bout died you can go down the street on redwood and get the samething for 1/3 the price. It's not about money guess it's just bidenflation. The food was OK it's what you'd expect from any bertos place like gual, ham, filbertos rancho etc, if you need it get it but shouldn't be on anyone's bucket list we have just exhausted all other places in town for lunch and this was new to try.
Place seemed cleaned, seems they are still stuck in the rona age with plastic face barriers to not get contamination but that's all overall 2 stars...
Read moreI started a keto diet recently and was having trouble figuring out things to eat that are quick and easy but still keto friendly. I've hit on Gual Berto's in Riverton. I get one of their burritos, I did the bacon breakfast burrito, which is one of my favorites. I order it with no potatoes and take it home. At home I remove the tortilla and throw it away. I know I love their tortillas but they are not keto friendly. What I'm left with is a large plate of scrambled eggs, bacon and cheese. Doing it this way I now know they are using quality bacon. This is quick, easy and very keto friendly. I've also tried the same thing with a machaca burrito (shredded beef, onion, peppers and cheese) which is also delicious, very keto friendly after throwing away the tortilla. Looking forward to carne...
