The Hungry Greek — Restaurant in Riverview

I usually love Hungry Greek but last nights dinner was extremely disappointing. I bought 5 meals and they were all incorrect. 2 Greek bowls and both had hard rice in them. 2 chicken pitas with Greek fries, one came with regular fries and one came with a Greek salad 😒. Last meal was the Gyro platter with a side of fries, this came with gyro meat with no rice…just the meat and fries. Yes, all edible (except who wants to eat hard rice), but after spending $95 on food you kind of want things to be at least mostly enjoyable. I won’t be eating at this one again. The owners really need to be involved.

I had a completely different experience than the good reviews. I will give a preface of I think it was lack of training. I ordered the Gyro, the simplest of the menu items, and should be a staple to nail it. Even though they had a spit for the meat, they used previously shaved meat from a heating bin, which I do not think was even on. Additionally they grabbed a cold pita, put it on a cold flat iron, (I know, the steps seem simple from here) and put cold meat on a at best room temperature pita. So I got a Luke warm to cold gyro. Gross 🤢. If I wasn't in such a hurry, as I got it to go, I would have gone back now realizing the flat iron and heater for the holding bin weren't on. More than disappointed. I am a regular customer of the Hungry Greek in. Apollo Beach, Fl. Since the first time, this establishment has never disappointed me as far as the quality and flavor of the food I have purchased. The staff is very friendly, the food is nutritious and delicious, whether you dine-in or takeout, you will not be disappointed. Their desserts are also a hit! When you visit the Hungry Greek, you don't have to wait long, from the time you order your food to the time they call you to pick up your order. I also believe the Hungry Greek food is reasonably priced! They have an app that, if you download it, you can check their menu, and order online , and there is a rewards system. I highly recommend...
