Denny's — Restaurant in Riviera Beach

Updated review Oct. 21: I’ve been going through a lot recently and I was pondering on who had the best fulfilling food in the area and God reminded me of Dennys!

I ordered a gram slamwich, as I always do and something had changed. It was still really good, but very heavy taste wise. (I’m sure from the added ingredients). I was only able to finish half. Still good, just slightly thicker tasting.

BACK STORY: Denny's was one of the only places growing up, that we could hang out and afford after high school and church hang out sessions!

As an adult, I've been re-exploring places in West Palm Beach and course I had to go the Denny's on Blue Heron. After a basketball game with my cousins we were still trying to hang out and that's how we ended up here. It was was around 11pm and that's when service can be a LITTLE tricky.

THE LOCATION: That location has been there for 30+ years, it's right next to a gas station and has A LOT of parking for Sunday brunch or post events. Inside was also a 4/5 start and bathrooms were a 3.5/5.

The service is tough. I forgot her name, but a beautiful black woman, who works alone during those hours. She was very attentive to her regulars (those who set close) and didn't come over too often if you sat outside of that. If you want quick and efficient service. sit close to "her area". If you're there late to chill, eat, and chat with you friends, just make yourself known to her, the area you want to sit, and already have the drink order ready. Once you PRESENT yourself she will take sure you're taking care of and won't bother you unless you need something (I personally LOVE THAT).

THE FOOD: Now this!!! Whew! SO good. The oil didn't taste old and everything had that perfect golden crisp. IDK who hires their late night chiefs, but I feel like they are THE BEST in that kitchen. The GrandSlamwhich was always my favorite but they way they cook it now, I get it EVERY TIME and In 2 months I've been here 2 twice! I don't have get the itis right after, just good vibes and good food!

The burger was a good tasty for a diner spot, the pancakes were average (maybe be the daytime cooks do that better), and the hash browns were iight, lol! (if you know, you know)!

FINAL THOUGHTS: You know for a good price you'll get some great food. If you go by yourself sit close to the counter or have 3-4 friends and family with you and you all will have a blast! I advocate for most of their food but the Grandslamwhich is my fav. If you want to keep it healthy add a side of spinach or...

I haven’t been to a Denny’s for years and they didn’t have my normal tuna or chicken salad sandwiches so I tried grilled chicken breast with bourbon sauce and vegetables. It took 30 minutes to get but it was on a cast-iron skillet, steaming hot and was delicious. What was great was a 10.99 price too. UPDATE: stopped in again and the service was a little better this time and my bourbon sauce grilled chicken was good. UPDATE… stopped in today and nobody knew what was going on and there was yelling at the cook, servers, etc… and after 30 minutes waiting for my sizzling bourbon chicken I received a cold skillet, very cold chili sauce and cheese no vegetables totally incorrect something not even on the menu. I will not be going here anymore. UPDATE: 4/27/22 because of Covid and it’s on my way home I decided to give them another try. I ordered the bourbon chicken skillet and It came to my table still sizzling and steaming and was absolutely delicious. My server Tamia was really on top of her game made sure I received what I ordered and it was wonderful. 09/10/12 lunch... I had my favorite bourbon chicken and it was very good as always. Also my server Jae was fantastic. She deserves a raise. She even brought another tea for me when mine was getting low without even having to ask. I will start coming here again. Me and my family got there around 1:20pm we order our food around 1:30pm they took an 1 to give us our appetizer mind you the server didn’t give us napkins or silverware I had to ask her for some. In total we waited an 1 hour and 30 mins for our food we ate at 2:50pm. Around 2:40pm the server kept apologizing and that the other half of the kitchen is closed. But she never told us or even communicated for the delay after a few minutes of ordering our food around 1:30pm. The food was okay but ihop is better they treat their staff better. A family next to us got their food before us even though we came before they did. When we finally got our food, Another family came in 10-20 mins before our food arrived and immediately got their food. Our server kept giving our food one at a time me and my little brother was eating while my sister and boyfriend was waiting for their food. This location has no communication skills. I didn’t tip my server at all. She was nice enough to not charge us a Mac and cheese for my brother but it’s all about communication. It wasn’t pack today so i don’t know why it took so long. While I was checking out I heard a staff member getting upset and tell the chief why they take so long to cook the food. I don’t care that it took so long to cook the food it’s about communication our server didn’t communicate until we got our food and never gave us napkins or utensils until he kept asking her.
