Cracker Barrel Old Country Store — Restaurant in Roanoke Rapids

Always forget the extra sausage gravy I order online and pay for yet I give them a tip in the app. I think I am just going to stop tipping and really check my bag before I leave because I am getting tired of them not checking what is going into the bag yet I tip them. Why am I tipping when they cannot do their job? Tipping is going above and beyond the call of duty. I am just trying to be nice and give a tip but if you cannot even do the job you are paid for, then why am I tipping exactly? I am tipping you to not complete my order plus I am paying for the extra sausage gravy. Imagine if you did this 100 times in one day. The extra gravy is $1.99. That is a nice little profit you make in the one day if people just throw their hands up and oh well it plus you have more inventory at the end of that day. Plus all those that are tipping for take out. I just do not understand why people cannot read what is on the ticket and then make sure that goes into the bag. But then when I worked in the service industry at Taco Bell decades ago, I was made the steamer after just three weeks. Becuase I read the monitor and called things out. No onions, no sour, extra sour, etc. You would not believe how many people just added onions. Response, we are programmed. Just a habit. Well, make it a habit to READ. If I can do it, why can't you? I often just pushed folks out of the stuff station and completed the orders myself because I did it right the first time. Less waste at the end of the night by me just taking over the entire line. I guess if you want it done right you do it yourself. Maybe I should just come to CB and make my own food? I only takeout when I have an appointment before work otherwise I would make my own breakfast. In the meantime folks, get it together already. I guess there was a reason for the 92 health inspection grade on the wall at the host table. Upon arrival, service was slow and our orders incorrect. But worst than anything else were the dirty utensils and cups. We were guided to sit down at a dirty table with leftover spilled salt and crumbs on it.

Guess the waitress didnt mind us having to use our bare hands to brush the dirty table off from someone elses leftovers because she sure didnt do anything to rectify it as she watched us.

My coffee and cup arrived with brown crusty flakes around the rim as if recently used and unclean. The spoon sitting in it had crusted black material on it, resting in the coffee like dried chocolate cake batter.

Asked for a replacement cup of coffee and waited 10 minutes for it to come. Had to ask for utensils due to none being given to us at arrival. My coffee arrives with the biscuits finally 10 minutes later and the biscuits are so rubbery from the microwave they were cooked in, they were too hard to chew through after cooling off for 5 minutes.

The order of 3 scrambled eggs with cheese i made came out as 2 scrambled eggs with no cheese. With the consistency of ground beef crumbles, falling off the fork. And the loaded hashbrowns came with nutmeg and cinnamon flavoring and salad grade crunchy fake bacon bits and a kraft cheese slice on top. The worst hashbrowns i have ever had in my life.

This miserable location should be reorganized and the staff retrained on food safety and cleanliness. You couldnt pay me to come back here.

Wish you could have seen the congealed, cold sausage gravy that came from a can, dumped into a plastic bowl and served with our biscuits. It had a thick film of skin you couldnt even push a knife or fork...

I would give 0/5 if able to. My ground showed up and was seated after about 15-20 minutes when there was over 5-8 tables open when we got sat down. Which I can understand because they don’t want to flood the waitress/waiters but when two were sitting in their phones it doesn’t seem like there was much to do for them. Our waitress took out order and then told us each thing we wanted they didn’t have or were out of so we ordered something else. I ordered the country boy breakfast and when it came out it was missing my biscuits and gravy and my partner ordered her dish it was supposed to come with a biscuit and it was missing. I was also told my side of fried apples was out of stock. I asked about my biscuits and gravy since it was missing and my partners biscuit that should’ve came with her meal the waitress ignored what I said until another person brought up they were missing their biscuit to which she rolled her eyes and said she’ll bring biscuits out for the table. While we were waiting for our checks she told the table behind us that they have fried apples and brought them to their table after telling us they were completely out. When I paid for my check I was asked about the service and if we enjoyed our meal which I brought up that mine was missing a full part of it and my partners biscuit was missing her biscuit as well. She just said “that’s to bad and didn’t do anything else” I hate making a fuss about stuff or leaving bad reviews but when half of my order didn’t come out and the waitress was rolling her eyes when we bring problems up and lie to our faces about stuff being out something should’ve happened or been fixed...
