Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Roanoke Rapids

Do not order a birthday cake here, they will not have it ready on time. I ordered this cake in store FIVE days in advance, and I waited there (not exaggerating) 45 minutes just for the specific person who does cakes to come take my order. On the day the cake was due, when I came to pick it up, the woman could not find my cake anywhere. She was visibly upset talking to her coworker in the back, “sh*t, they didn’t make her cake”, she told me she’ll just make it herself and she took my order all over again. She said it’ll take a few hours and to come back later, but the party was already about to start! So, sadly we couldn’t have any cake at the birthday party. And the worst part is, that evening when we came back to finally pick it up, all they had to say was “we forgot”. And the cake was NOT made correctly, it was literally just some ice cream with frosting on it!? It was very strange. I regret not taking a picture or asking for a refund. I never leave negative reviews on anything because I know stuff happens, but this is the worst service I’ve ever had and it messed up the party. Just a huge...

We stopped here after a doctor's appointment. We decided we would splurge. Lol. We went inside and were immediately greeted. The place was clean and in good order. My husband ordered a chocolate dipped cone. The manager took our order. She was joking around with us. My hubby joked saying he wanted a 2 foot tall cone with extra dipped chocolate. The staff laughed. The girl that made his cone made sure it was a little extra. I ordered the heath caramel brownie cupfection. The girl took her time making it but when I got it, it looked just like it did in the pictures. Plenty of chocolate and caramel. The brownie was a whole brownie that was warm, like it had just come from the oven. They didn't skimp on the heath bar pieces, either. It was incredibly decadent. The prices were reasonable, too. Although this DQ has a good menu, too, we opted just for ice cream.

For being a restaurant that's just a piece of a gas station, it is better than many DQs I've been to.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! absolutely ridiculous. Horrible customer service!If you're in the drive thru expect your wait time to be 50 minutes or more. Think it'd be quicker inside? Think again. Inside they act like you don't exist. you have to watch the chaos while you wait the same amount of time. The dessert assembly area is disgusting. I understand it is because they don't have the time. They are so understaffed they may as well be closed. The workers have zero patience and the worst attitudes. Nasty as hell for no reason! The kitchen takes forever for the simplest order (30+ minutes for 1 small fry with hardly anyone in the lobby). Some of the worst service you can get in RR. The manager acts like he doesn't know what's going on. They aren't accurately tracking a thing in there and all use each others' info to log into the register.
