Probably the worst experience in a chain restaurant ever. Raw steak, dry chicken, cold mac and cheese.
First off, I can't complain about our waitress. She was very apologetic and accommodating. In over 30 years I've never once sent a plate back or been disappointed enough to leave a negative review for a restaurant, but this one is well deserved.
I walked in ahead of my family to make sure there wasn't a long wait. I waited about 5 minutes for a matradee or anyone to notice me. There were about 3 servers standing together chatting, restaurant was about half full. I gave up and went back to the car to get my family figuring there wouldn't be a wait.
We go inside and had to flag down a waitress to get seated after a few minutes of waiting... Not a huge deal. A very friendly waitress comes by, menus, asks for our drink order. My wife gets a cocktail off the menu, I ask for an old fashioned. Waitress says she'll see if the bar knows how to make that.... what...?
While we're waiting we notice that she's about the only one in the whole front of house doing anything. The other wait staff is huddled in a corner most of the time chatting... It doesn't affect me, but dang I hope they don't split tips here.
She comes back with both drinks. My "old fashioned" is a shot glass of whiskey. She can tell I'm confused so she asks if that's right, I said no but if you can get me a rocks glass with some ice, I'm good with that. She comes back with one of their huge 26oz glasses filled to the top with ice. My wife laughs, I laugh, it's whatever. I have bourbon. Yay.
Our food comes out. My wife's chicken breast is dryer than the Sahara, like she had to use my steak knife to saw through it and then drown it in A1 just to get it down.
My kid's mac and cheese is cold. Not room temperature cold, cold like fresh out of the fridge cold. He didn't care, but now I wonder how they hold their food? Do they have ramekins of mac in a fridge that they reheat and they forgot to pop this one in chef mike?
I get about 3 bites into my ribeye and I notice it's more rare than the medium rare I asked for. I flip the stew over and it's dead raw on the underside. They never even flipped it on the grill/flattop. They seared the one side and put it right on my plate, raw side down. Well, my appetite is gone. I wish I had taken a picture.
I didn't start with this, but we are just getting off of an 11 hour road trip. All we wanted was a not-McDonalds dinner and to go to the hotel up the road and go to bed. Might as well have gone to McDonalds, but I'm not done yet.
Waitress comes over an asks how everything is, I show her my steak, and she says ok let me go get the manager. I see her talking to him and then she goes off somewhere. Next person we see if her, back again with the check. With everything on it. Nobody has taken another bite of anything, nobody ate more than 1/3rd of their plate. I mentioned the manager hasn't come by yet, and I'm not paying for a steak that's not even close to cooked. She looks over my shoulder and waves the manager over.
Manager asks what the problem is, I show him the steak and my theory of them putting it on the grill on one side, flipping it onto the plate, and calling it good, and said I'm not trying to be that person, but I'm not paying for the steak.
He just stands there staring at my plate... like no words, no gestures... so I give him a few seconds and now I'm getting mad. I probably went up a volume level and said "Look. All I'd like you to do is take the steak off my check. And I'm not even getting into my wife's dried out chicken or my kids fridge temperature mac and cheese, I'm just not paying for the steak."
He apologizes, corrects the check, I make sure to tip the waitress above and beyond the original bill price percentage, and we get out of there.
If you're still with me, I hope nobody else has this experience. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. This was a few weeks ago and I still haven't had a steak since. Makes me want to gag...
Read moreOrdered online for take out tonight (note that car make, model and color are asked for on order). First time from this location. Pulled into area for pickup at exact time order was supposed to be ready per the confirmation; there was one other car when we pulled up and 3 employees inside the takeout area. Another car pulled in and server brought them food. No checking with us or other car. Proceeded to sit for 30 minutes while 6 other vehicles pulled in. During that time only one order was brought out. Walked up to door and other customer did the same. All of the people inside were wandering around, scrolling their phones and would not even look out to open door. Boxes were being packaged and left on counter. Only when other customer knocked on door did they acknowledge anyone. Other customer got their order(which was sitting on counter), server started to walk inside and I asked for our food. Server said they needed to cash out the payment from other customer. Came back and gave name, order was sitting on the counter. At this point there were 6 other people standing outside their cars waiting for food. Server was rude, did not say thank you and acted put out that we had the nerve to ask for our orders. Even when asked to sign for order, nothing to even lean on to sign was provided. I had to attempt to sign against my hand. I worked in restaurants for years and cut quite a bit of slack on servers given that often there is a backup that they cannot control. However, this was pure laziness on part of the servers as every order they were asked for was sitting on counter and frankly terrible management (saw manager in area at one point and they did nothing to assist). Lastly, server carrying stack of boxes from kitchen was not wearing mask over mouth/nose and literally had chin resting on top of boxes. The only reason for 2 stars was the food was decent (albeit cold at that point). However, it was not even close to good enough to overcome the...
Read moreOur family (4 adults and 2 kids) is traveling thru and decided to stop for dinner tonight (Christmas Eve). No wait and normal busy for this style of restaurant. As soon as we sat down, she took our order. We ordered 2 entrees, a salad with chicken, 2 kids meal and a baked potato. After getting our drinks and giving us bread, we waited over an hour before I finally asked how long it was going to take. She informed me she sent our order in after a table of 7 before us. She explained it was busy, but there was zero wait, and a few tables were open. We're pretty forgiving but very observant, lol. When our order finally came out, one entree had over peppered broccoli, mashed potatoes were overdone.... and no salad for another person in our party. She forgot to put that order in so she got the manager to put it together. We mention if we could get another bowl of broccoli, she obliged and mentioned she DID notice all the pepper but was going to wait to see if we liked it like that??? I wish I would've taken a picture. The salad finally came out, but it was missing the boiled eggs and seemed to be thrown together with the smallest strip of chicken they had. It was hard to blame the waitress but knew the broccoli was over peppered AND she forgot to put in the salad. We were going to get an order to go but didn't want to wait another hour for a boxed plate of food. We had one refill of drinks the entire time. If our waitress is reading this, if you see the food isn't right, don't send it at all and make sure the entire ordered is sent KNOWING we were going to have to wait over an hour.for our food. Best of Luck and hope things...
