Dunkin' — Restaurant in Roanoke

I hadn't been to a Dunkin Donuts in 10 years and I regret going today. Being treated rudely and angrily for doing absolutely nothing is uncalled for. I don't need a performance or fake small talk. I'm not like that. Just don't want to be yelled at.

It all started when someone gave me a Dunkin Donuts gift card. I didn't want to stop at this one, but this could have happened anywhere.

I've never ordered food from an app to go pick it up in drive thru. Until today. I was rudely told that I should have stopped at the first window to tell them I was coming to pick up my food that I ordered from the app. ?? That defeats the whole purpose of using the app if I still have to stop at two windows.

Anyway, I didn't say anything other than I'm here to pickup a mobile order and thanks. So I don't know why I got the anger. I think an incorrect assumption was made. I can't control that. Obviously.

I didn't eat my food because I didn't trust it was okay after the behavior at the drive thru. I have no proof anything was done but when I saw the way the sandwich was thrown in the bag, I knew I probably shouldn't eat any of it just in case.

Moral of this: if you've never been to Dunkin Donuts, you aren't...

We feel bad because they were nice... But the service wasn't that great! They weren't like Starbucks where people were wrapped around waiting in the drive thru for service. We were the only car in the drive thru lane. Very simple order. What we didn't understand was one person started taking our order. Then another voice started taking the rest of the order. They even repeated our order. So, how can you still get that wrong?

I couldn't bring myself to say one of our coffee orders was wrong. We said we wanted hot coffee. But one was iced coffee and decaf and we didn't ask for that. We just kept it. The wake-up wraps were heated for too long and they weren't soft but a little stiff and the sweet treat (donut) it didn't have much glaze on it (little dry). The visit was disappointing. We said we wanted a sugar substitute, they gave us sugar. We said cream/sugar substitute on the side. Another coffee order had the cream added in. Everything we asked for we seemed to get the opposite of what we said. We couldn't get a latte bc the machine wasn't working or some other reason we were told.

Yesterday was my third and final chance given to this Dunkin’ after two previous disappointing experiences with food and/or drinks. I ordered a meal ahead and paid through the app: breakfast sandwich, donut and drink. When I arrived to pick it up 10 minutes later the order had not been started. There were only 2-3 people working at lunch time and a line backed up at the drive through. I waited 15 minutes while a male employee called me “honey” multiple times and apologized for the wait. When I finally got the order, they forgot the donut and I had to go back and ask for it. The sandwich smelled spoiled, was overcooked, not edible and had to be thrown away. I wasted $9.50 and about 30 minutes of my time at this place. Never again. I will stick with the Keagy Village location and drive out of my way to get what I want from Dunkin’ there.
