This was my 1st...and last...time trying Taaza. I read the reviews and it sounded great so I gave them a go. They should be ashamed of themselves and use bait and switch or just outright false advertisement. I ordered Bullet Naan which was just as described on the online menu. Also tried the Cocktail Samosa. The price was great but the samosa were not. They were Luke warm at best, thick pastry and doughy. Not hot despite the fact that I arrived to pick my order up 10 minutes earlier than was told it would be ready. Finally, the WORST part of the order, I thought this was a nice place to introduce my child to Indian food. I ordered from the kids menu for her...Chicken Pakora and Fries. As you can see from the pictures I too, they did NOT serve "Chicken Pakora"...but nasty frozen chicken nuggets! The fries were also greasy and very few. McDonald's serves better chicken nuggets than this place! At least at McDonalds, you know what you are getting...nasty frozen chicken nuggets, but at least a happy meal there gives a toy! Disgraceful. I called the restaurant as soon as I got in the road to let them know what they did. The guy who answered the phone was rude and said "talk to my manager", I did. He apologized and said they were fried fresh when I ordered. I told him what they gave me and he said that's what they serve. Asked him why do they advertise and SHOW A PICTURE OF THE CHICKEN instead of just being honest and either advertise what they ACTUALLY serve, or serve what they advertise. I would have never ordered frozen chicken nuggets from an Indian restaurant. He said "What do you want, more food", as though I was trying to scam a free meal or something. I was not, but I told him the only thing I "want" is for them to correct their menu, advertise for what they sell and stop scamming customers. I was too upset by that point to turn around, bring the nasty food back, and request a refund. Wasn't worth my time or trouble. Buyers Beware, make sure you know what you are ordering and do NOT trust their...
Read moreIf I could give ZERO stars, I would. My friend and I went to grab take out at Taaza and when we got there, there was no server in sight. As we were waiting, one male server came in and out of the entrance but never addressed us or asked us if we needed any help. Then, a second female server walked into the building and proceeded to go to the cash register with the second server following - the one who had come in and out and ignored the presence of my friend and I. Rather than asking my friend and I if we needed help, BOTH servers greeted the couple with their child who had just entered the establishment BEFORE my friend and I who had been waiting patiently for at least 5 - 10 minutes by then. Only after the male server who had shown nothing but BLATANT disrespect towards us showed the couple with a child to their table did the female server ask if we needed anything. By then, we were too irate to order anything and just left. [To give context, this was around 4:30-5 pm on November 7th and there were hardly any customers.]
In my mind, many thoughts were swirling through my head. First, was it racial bias, since my friend and I are clearly NOT white and the couple and their child are white? Second, could it have been gender bias, since we are two females who were seeking service? Thirdly, since we are two females eating together, could it have been homophobia? It could have been one, two, or even all three aspects. Nevertheless, what struck me the most was the BLATANT disregard and disrespect demonstrated to my friend and myself who were seeking and desiring to eat the delicious food that Taaza offers. I had come one time before and my friend raved about this place, having eaten there many times.
Unfortunately, after this incident, I know that I will no longer be a paying customer. To get such disrespectful treatment means that this establishment does not...
Read moreMy bf and I went to visit for the lunch buffet today Saturday, 5/25/19. We don't get to go out to eat often due to budgeting and I was super excited to eat some Indian food since it is one of my very most favorite.
I heard some good things about Taaza and the reviews are so good, so I was shocked at our experience.
We arrived at 11:58am. I know they open at noon and I sheepishly tried the door, finding it unlocked and opened it to go inside.
The hostess seemed annoyed with us and made it seem like she was doing us a HUGE favor for seating us "early" and that we would need to "wait" to eat. Fine I guess? I can think of several more polite ways to handle this situation.
I saw they had $3 Bloody Marys on Saturdays and was excited to try one. We waited 10 minutes, tried to get someones attention, there was someone at the bar who ignored us and several other staff members, we were the only customers at this point in time..
The hostess walked by us a told us we could "go ahead" and get our food. My bf mentioned that we would like drinks. She got very upset and went to the back to find someone to help us. She came storming back out yelling "Jesus Christ" and flew past our table, clearly angry with another staff member.
5 minutes later we got a lack luster, no eye contact water pour. No one asked if we wanted drinks or needed anything.
We got up and left, no one tried to stop us and apologize or anything.
So disappointing, maybe their food is good, but we never got to find out due to the poor service. Maybe it was for the best, if your staff cares that little about customer service, they probably don't put much care into the food either. =(
(also just a side note, I think their air conditioning might be broken, it was...
