Review of Tzediki’s Mediterranean Grill – Roanoke, VA
Tzediki’s Mediterranean Grill brings a fresh, fast-casual concept to Roanoke, with a dining experience that’s stylistically similar to Cava. The menu features Mediterranean staples, and the atmosphere appears designed for quick service with customization in mind.
During my visit, I ordered the lamb burger with pita chips and tzatziki, while my wife selected the chicken salad. She genuinely enjoyed her meal and commented on the fresh ingredients and flavor profile. However, my own experience was disappointing. I never received the lamb burger I ordered—instead, I was served only the pita chips and dip. Due to the circumstances, I chose not to reorder and left without a proper meal.
Additionally, the restaurant was unusually loud, as the staff appeared to be tuning the speaker system during business hours. It was distracting and diminished the overall dining experience.
That said, I want to emphasize that the staff was friendly and courteous throughout, and my critique reflects only a single visit. I encourage others to try this new establishment and judge for themselves. As someone who supports new businesses in the Roanoke area, I sincerely hope this was an isolated incident. The food may indeed be excellent—but I would not know based on my experience.
Two months later and I finally received my food, and it was...
Read moreI have eaten here 3 times recently and each time was great!
Working lunch with colleague and first visit. We had minimal wait for our food even during busy Friday lunch rush, and everything was delicious! The option of outdoor seating was really great on such a pretty day.
Mom’s night out. This was a medium sized group. We had the whipped feta as an appetizer (yum!) and entrees/salads. The food was again delicious and generous portions. The staff were super kind and brought out desserts for us to try….gotta say the baklava was the star!
Attempted quick dinner with toddler. The toddler was feeling very 2, so my intended dine-in experience had to wrap up in a hurry. The staff were super kind and helpful for me to get things boxed up. Someone in the kitchen accidentally made two of our order, so they offered for me to take that, too. Thank you for turning a stressful trip into unexpected good fortune! My family really enjoyed the extras on such a busy afternoon school night!
I know staff mistakes like happened in #3 can be costly, but please do not punish/fuss that staff member. Their mistake ultimately led to the kick of the pants I need to share all my good experiences with your restaurant. The kindness your staff has consistently shown when I’ve dined with you really stands...
Read moreI have been anticipating the opening since I first read about it taking over the space at 2243 Franklin Rd SW Ste A, Roanoke, VA 24014 next to First Watch. At first glance the menu offers both minimalist and different Mediterranean selections. The build your own feast is a tasty full diverse plate of food with a protein, a salad and a side of basmati rice or red roosted potatoes. Our table sampled grilled shrimp and grilled chicken dishes. Both were well seasoned and cooked. The rice and salad were perfect compliments to the shrimp and the rice and potatoes went well with the chicken. The staff is well trained, polite and friendly while the managers/owners are super accommodating and concerned about your dining experience. I cannot vouch for the more traditional Mediterranean fare like humus or gyro, but I will be back to for the delicious grilled shrimp and to sample the Falafel and Grilled vegetables. Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe offers a children's menu...
