My wife and I love this place and eat here at least once every two weeks. We absolutely love their Cobb salad with chicken. It is very reasonably priced and is of top-notch quality. They never failed to be punctual and polite and provide great service.
Update-it appears that yet another restaurant in Roanoke has been purchased by the same people who own every other restaurants in town. We knew it was happening and hoped that they wouldn’t change too much. We stopped in this week only to find out the menu is completely unrecognizable. Before, the copper still was known for their charcuterie boards and lots of different drinks and then sandwiches and salads. The new owners have decided that that is not a way they want to go and it now just looks like any other restaurants menu. To be honest, we didn’t even give it a chance. There’s plenty of everyday restaurants around. It also boggles my mind because only one out of five new restaurants survives one year. The copper still had been around quite a long time and the new owners have totally turned the place on its head so anybody who ate there before is not real likely to like this change. So, they’re starting all over again looking for customers. We’re sad but will move on! Good luck to...
Read moreIt's one of the more classy places I've visited in a while, but I had nothing but good, warm vibes to offer.
The atmosphere is very warm, inviting and friendly. Whiskey and bourbon decorations are strung about. Little touches to make it feel more comfortable, like inviting wooden furniture and a fireplace in the corner.
The food was good, but it's not the reason that most go here. We ordered two appetizers: the cheese ball, salsa, and chips. We also each had a hoagie. I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch. It was good, but it reminded me somewhat of subway quality. The presentation was much better than that, however.
The drinks were great. This is where this place really shines. A large bourbon collection, where you can order pours, flights, and cocktails of what must be over 100 different types of bourbon and whiskey.
Overall opinion? It's a great place to spend an evening trying new bourbon with friends and having a bit to eat in a warm, scenic atmosphere.
The largest negative quality is the price, I felt they were overpriced on a few things, but definitely not everything.
Also, grab a reservation. It gets busy, and there's isn't a...
Read moreWe stopped into this lovely bar recently and were impressed. It looks and feels upscale with nice decor and high quality details. Our appetizer was a beef and green onion cheese ball and it was outstanding. Deliciously creamy with a great onion flavor both my wife and I were impressed. The menu is limited to appetizers, salads, soup, charcuterie boards and sandwiches with a nacho option on Tuesday only. The drink menu is extensive and a massive selection of bourbons are available. My wife ordered a blueberry margarita (an untypical drink for her) and she enjoyed it! Her charcuterie board was nicely arranged, presented and delicious! My cowboy hoagie was very good with fresh bread, meats and candied jalapeños for a little kick. Service was great. While we were there some folks came in who were regulars based on their banter with the staff. The food was not cheap, but it was reasonably priced for the quality and care and the upscale atmosphere which made the restaurant comfortably relaxing. Portions were adequate. We did not leave hungry nor did we have doggy bags. All in all The Copper Still was a winner and we...
