Have visited the saloon many times for drinks and dinner…. Atmosphere is great and food is good also. Our last visit was on Nov 2nd was disappointing. We waited almost 20 minutes to get noticed and another 20 minutes to get them. We ordered queso which was brought quickly…… Thank you! The two items we wanted to order for dinner wasn’t available so we had to find an alternative. After ordering dinner and finishing our appetizer it was 57 minutes later and we are still waiting on our food. I asked the waitress for a timeline on our food…. Got ignored…. another 10 minutes pasted and I inquired again stating that we might leave….. The waitress stated “You gotta do what you gotta do”! I couldn’t believe that she said that! I’ve been in customer service more than half my life and was taught customer service is #1! I understand if we were there with a group having drinks and then ordered dinner….. The wait would have been exceptable we were just out to have dinner! The table next to us must have been regulars and also had a bad experience. Their waitress expressed that there wasn’t a manager there to complain to. We really enjoyed going there in the past with exceptional waitresses and bartenders! Just don’t know if we will be returning and it’s sad to know your management allows your employees...
Read moreI rarely write a bad review. But, in this case, I am making an exception. I had the pulled pork sandwich and french fries. Both were unremarkable. How can you make french fries unremarkable? My wife had the quesadilla and a cocktail. She said it was good. When the bill came, I noticed a 2% charge for a credit card. Unless there is a sign at the door saying the same, I learned it for the first time when the bill came. Thus, I paid with cash. Others in our party paid with a credit card. But, they did see it for the first time on their bill. Our waitress took my cash and came back to the table with the credit card bills for others to sign. But, did not leave my change. I found her as we were leaving and she said oh yes I owe you $2.18. This is when she was taking orders at another table. I told her she did not do her job and explained that I will not return. She got my $2.18 on a $37.82 bill because I would not take her change at that point. I asked to speak to the manager. They have no manager on duty. Lastly, waitresses do not serve food across the table. You go around and serve it on the customer's side. If you need a beer and a burger, maybe this is the place to go. We asked to have a different table as we wanted to talk across the table, but it was a large square table and my wife and I did want to talk loud. The server told me to sit in the aisle seat. There were only 2 other parties in there and we just wanted to sit at one of the 2 unoccupied round tables. After instructing me to sit, she walked away. Ok. We'll stay here and make it work. When I asked about available bourbons, her attitude came across as I should already know this. We had been there once before 2 weeks ago, and really liked the food and server Allie M. We hoped we would get her again. Not tonight. No smiles or welcoming attitude from this woman. No knowledge of the menu or cocktails. I would post her name, but she we didn't get a receipt as I paid with cash. My wife loves the food. The food is average at best, and the service from our server was poor. We will be back, but this server will not be our server. Ask for Allie M. She's the reason we came back. Hopefully, our next trip the server we get appreciates...
