You know when you wake up, and you crave something spectacular, on a sunny saturday afternoon? Yeah, well that’s when you make your way to Pelicana. It was our first time, and I am so happy this gem opened up right near us! The inside was so clean, neat and inviting. Love the cozy feel of the restaurant. I wish I took pictures of the inside, next time for sure!
We ordered the 7pc soy garlic jumbo wings, spicy. Kimchi pancakes. Cheese balls (mozz and honey), and tteokboki with kimmari/dumpling combo! The prices were reasonable and the quantities served is very generous!
The chicken was so fresh, loved the flavor, i could use a tad bit more spice but I’m a fan. Love the daikom kimchi on the side, i could eat those all day. The cheese balls are addictive, had a hint of sweet and the cheese pull was very much instagram worthy :P! The tteokboki really hit the spot, perfect spicy level and gochujang flavour was divine!! Kimchi pancakes are a classic, you can’t go wrong ordering this!
Can’t wait to go back, i’m already dreaming about Pelicana; korean fried chicken! Thank you Chang and Joon, you two were so sweet and hospitable! We will see you very soon
Read moreFirst experience here. It's been on my list for about a year, and decided to drop in while we were in the area.
The atmosphere is very laid back and cozy, with light decor to give it an accurate Korean vibe. Basically a café setting.
We ordered a full order of chicken tenders, prepared extra crispy with two sauces, and an order of japche. The japche was very good, and had a notable fresh taste to it; great texture and temperature. The chicken was well cooked, had good crisp (as much as you can with tenders) and the sauces were good (we had the spicy/sweet level 1 and honey garlic I think); the level 1 spice was very light and perfect for someone that can't handle much spice, but wants a TINY kick.
One of the staff members offered us some kimchi with our meal, which was remarkably good. It tasted very fresh, was crisp and had balanced spice. I was told that it's in-house, fresh made, which I fully believe; the best Kimchi I've had to date of a decent sample size.
Looking forward to trying more in the future. There is a lot on the...
Read moreWhat incredible food and service!!! I called ahead to make a big take-out order for a birthday party and the person I spoke with (who I can only assume is the owner!) was so kind and incredibly accommodating. I wanted to serve Korean Fried Chicken + Beer (in Korea we call it 치맥/ChiMaek=Chicken+Maekju). We got ~$200 worth of food which was perfect to feed 15 people. A few of the guests did not eat meat and he was super patient as I was asking if each dish contained any meat or not, and for a couple that did usually contain meat, he was able to cook it without. I really wanted to my friends a little bit of Korean culture through food and I'm so glad I found this place! Everything was so delicious, and next time I can't wait to go in person and to try the chicken fresh out...
